Rumored Argentina names for Copa America, Sergio AGUERO or ICARDI, no DYBALA

One of Sergio AGUERO and Mauro ICARDI are expected to make the Argentina team for the Copa America while Paulo DYBALA is likely to miss out.

Per reports by ESPN, coach Lionel SCALONI already has several names confirmed but the big doubts are in midfield and attack. In midfield, it’s between Ivan MARCONE and Guido RODRIGUEZ. Up front, it’s between Angel DI MARIA and MARTINEZ while Sergio AGUERO and Mauro ICARDI fight for one spot.

Gonzalo HIGUAIN and Chelsea have qualified for the final of the Europa League.

The former Argentina man will be taking part in another final in his career, this time in the Europa League. After having lost the Champions League final while with Juventus in 2017, HIGUAIN will get another chance at a European cup final.

His Chelsea side defeated Eintracht 4-3 on penalties after the match finished 1-1 with HIGUAIN not shooting a penalty. Chelsea will play Arsenal in the final.

Javier MASCHERANO, Maxi RODRIGUEZ and Fabricio COLOCCINI are set to join the Argentina team at Panamerican games.

This news coming from TyC Sports reporter Esteban Edul. If the news is true, the three former Argentina players would join Fernando BATISTA’s team for the games. They would be the three overage players.

Mauricio POCHETTINO’s Tottenham have reached the Champions League final after defeating Ajax.

It was one of the most memorable semi-finals of all time, one which saw Tottenham comeback after being 2-0 down away from home. A late goal saw them qualify where they will play Liverpool in the final.

POCHETTINO becomes only the sixth Argentine coach to reach the Champions League final. He joins Luis CARNIGLIA, Helenio HERRERA, Juan Carlos LORENZO, Héctor CUPER and Diego SIMEONE.

Argentina will play Nicaragua in June prior to the start of the Copa America.

Per a tweet by Manuel OLIVARI of DirecTV Sports, the Argentina national team will play Nicaragua on June 7 in San Juan. This would likely be the last match before Argentina play their opening game of the Copa America on June 15 against Colombia.
