Julián Álvarez scored in teh first 50 seconds of the match for Atletico Madrid in their 1-1 draw vs. Real Sociedad.

Álvarez has made it three goals for Atletico Madrid since joning the club. It was a back heel from Antoine Griezmann, a control by Álvarez and a finish with his left foot and he scored to give Atletico Madrid the 1-0 lead.

Nahuel Molina also started for Atletico with Rodrigo De Paul being substituted into the match.

Facundo Buonanotte has been called up to the Argentina national team.

Buonanotte is called up for Argentina. According to Gastón Edul, the 19 year old has been called up to the team for the October World Cup qualifying matches.

Luka Romero hints at possibly playing for Argentina, Mexico or Spain

Luka Romero has hinted at the possibility of playing for Argentina, Mexico or Spain.

Romero holds three nationalities. Born in Mexico to Argentine parents but raised in Spain, the 19 year old has represented Argentina at youth level but could still play for any of the three national teams. Speaking in an interview with ESPN, here is what Romero had to say:

“I don’t close my doors to anyone. It’s a privilege to have three nationalities because the three are very good national teams. I’m a kid, I have a lot of possibilities to pick. I don’t know what can happen in the future, I will always be grateful to all three.”

Paulo Gazzaniga saved three penalties for Girona in their 2-1 win against Athletic Club on matchday 9 of La Liga.

In the 27th minute, the 32-year-old goalkeeper saved a penalty from Álex Berenguer, diving to his left to keep the score tied at 0-0.

In the 57th minute, with the score level at 1-1, the Argentine saved another penalty, this time from Iñaki Williams. However, VAR requested that the penalty be retaken due to encroachment. Athletic Club changed the taker, and Ander Herrera stepped up. His shot went low and down the middle, but Gazzaniga saved it with his legs.

Girona ended up winning the game 2-1 in the ninth minute of added time.

Earlier in the week, Gazzaniga had also saved a penalty against Feyenoord in the UEFA Champions League. Without a doubt, the Argentine is establishing himself as a penalty-saving specialist.

Paulo Dybala is out for Argentina and will miss the October World Cup qualifiers.

Dybala will not be with the Argentina national team for their two matches against Venezuela and Bolivia. It was also previously announced that Nicolás González would miss out due to injury.
