Recent Edgardo BAUZA quotes, ICARDI and more

12

Hello everyone! HAPPY NEW YEAR!  I wish you all the very best this 2017!

Here are some recent quotes by our national team coach Edgardo BAUZA.  He spoke of ICARDI, MARADONA, TEVEZ and more!

“I already spoke with ZANETTI (Inter vice president) and I told him: HIGUAIN and PRATTO are the two center forwards, but the third one is ICARDI. If I get the chance, I’ll sit down and have a chat with the player, but he already knows what I think of him. He knows that if something happens to HIGUAIN or PRATTO, he’s the next one up.”

“I spoke with all the main players, because before starting as the coach for the national team I was getting messages saying ‘they don’t want this player.’ There’s absolutely no problem with any player.”

The 23 year old goalscorer briefly played for the national team in 2013 when he was on the bench against Peru but came in for a few minutes against Uruguay in the next game.

“He knows what I think of him as a player. It’s highly probably that I will go see him in my next trip.”

It is seemingly inexorable now at this point that Mauro ICARDI will be finally called up for the next World Cup Qualifiers in March against Chile and Bolivia.

El Patón also thanked Diego MARADONA for his words:

“Diego was in this place before and know how much we suffer.”

In regards to Carlos TEVEZ:

“Going to China is kind of troublesome. He knows perfectly well what I think of him, and that even though he left I’ll keep following him.”

“We got better in a few things. Slowly we’re having more time to work. We’re seeing if we can have a friendly match before the next call up.”

“I had a three hour meeting with Armando PEREZ and Javier MEDIN to discuss the problems in AFA and the national team outlook. In 48 hours we will know for sure where we will play against Chile.”

So what do you guys think of all this?

Fernando REDONDO to get coaching licence

The number of former Argentine National Team players going for their coaching licence continues to grow.

Three of the biggest coaches in the world are Argentine. Diego SIMEONE, Jorge SAMPAOLI and Mauricio POCHETTINO. You can make a fair shout to Marcelo GALLARDO as well. And there’s another one that’s getting ready to throw his name in the ring. One of the most intelligent football players the world has ever seen, Fernando REDONDO will in the coming days start his classes to receive his coaching licence.

Lionel MESSI top corner free kick, HIGUAIN double, DYBALA goals

Lionel MESSI scored another free kick, this time placing it in the top corner in Barcelona’s 1-1 draw against Villarreal. Javier MASCHERANI played the full match for the current league champions. Meanwhile for the yellow submarines, MUSACCIO had to be substituted off due to a wrist injury.

Gonzalo HIGUAIN scored twice and DYBALA scored a goal for the Italian champions as they picked up a 3-0 win against Bologna. The win marks a Serie A record as the club have won 26 consecutive home matches.

Jonathan CALLERI, Hernan TOLEDO close to joining Las Palmas

West Ham United’s Jonathan CALLERI is close to joining Spanish club Las Palmas.

The forward is apparently really close to leaving the London club and joining up with Sergio ARAUJO in Spain. Despite only joining the club last summer, CALLERI appears to be on his way out according to several reports. Jonathan TOLEDO of Fiorentina is another that is being closely linked to the Spanish club. It would appear that both signings would only be loan deals.

Marcos ROJO picks up injury with Manchester United

With only 19 minutes played, Marcos ROJO picked up an injury during Manchester United’s FA Cup clash against Reading.

ROJO picked up the injury in the team’s 4-0 win. Here’s what coach Jose MOURINHO had to say about it:

“I don’t know [what the damage is]. We have to wait a little bit. A muscle is a muscle and you’re always afraid of it but let’s see what is going on.”

“It would be so important for us to keep our central defenders fit for the month of January. But I prefer to wait.”
