Sergio AGUERO injured, out of Argentina squad

According to Hernan CASTILLO, Sergio AGUERO is out injured.

The tweet by CASTILLO states that AGUERO will not be travelling to Argentina to take part in the World Cup Qualifiers as he is out injured. With the squad selection being larger than usual (27 players called in total), it is unlikely that there would be a replacement called-up.

Nicolas GAITAN and Augusto FERNANDEZ are the first two to arrive to Argentina.

With the World Cup Qualifiers restarting this week, two of Edgardo BAUZA’s players already in the country. Both Atletico Madrid players landed just minutes ago and spoke to the media. Here’s what GAITAN had to say:

“Hopefully we can do everything possible to get the six points. I don’t know him (Edgardo BAUZA) and I’ve never worked with him. I don’t know what his idea is but we’ll get to know each other during the next few days. I think he’ll get the best out of every player.”

Augusto FERNANDEZ:
“What Leo said in that moment impacted all of us as team mates and as Argentine’s. We got him back. He’s an emblem for the National Team and the best in the world.”

Mauro ICARDI and Sergio ARAUJO both got off the mark for this season.

Mauro ICARDI scored his first goal of the season (and also Inter Milan’s first of the season) with a close range header. Ever BANEGA also started and played the full 90 minutes in Inter’s 1-1 draw against Palermo.

Sergio ARAUJO scored his first of the season for Las Palmas in their 5-1 win against Granada.

Roberto PEREYRA scored a goal for his new club Watford while Paulo DYBALA had a great assist for Juventus.

After coming on as a substitute and making his debut for Watford, Roberto PEREYRA scored his first goal just minutes after coming on. PEREYRA’s goal was Watford’s only one of the match as they lost 3-1 to Arsenal.

Paulo DYBALA had the match winning assist for Juventus in their 1-0 win against Lazio.

The Italian Serie A kicks off on Saturday with two big matches, one of which involves three current players on the Argentina National Team.

Paulo DYBALA, Gonzalo HIGUAIN and Lucas BIGLIA will all play on Saturday as Lazio host Juventus in the first match on Saturday. The other match involes HIGUAIN’s former club Napoli against AC Milan. Here are the matches involving Argentine players in this week’s Italian Serie A.
