Argentina team gets robbed in Mexico

It goes from bad to worse for this team.

Argentina’s Olympic team had all their stuff stolen from the hotel they were staying at in Mexico. According to Martin AREVALO, between them all, they brought with them about $200,000 in cash and personal belongings. The team was staying at the Camino Real de Puebla which is where they got robbed. Apparently, the thieves entered the rooms, no forced entry.

Jorge SAMPAOLI: “My dream to coach the National Team”

22

Jorge SAMPAOLI has finally broken his silence and spoke about coaching the National Team.

In the middle of all the will he or won’t he, SAMPAOLI finally spoke about the situation and the rumors of him coaching the Argentina National Team. Following his team’s 1-0 win against Mainz 05 in Germany, he spoke about it all. Here’s what he had to say:

“I spoke to the president of the Argentine federation and that filled me with joy, it’s my dream to coach the National Team. But dreams don’t always arrive when you want them. Now, my dream is to beat Madrid and Barcelona and to satisfy the fans.”

“I re-iterate, I’ve always said I would like to coach Argentina, it’s my dream, but at this moment, it would be irresponsible of me to leave Sevilla with all the important matches we have ahead of us.”

Match highlights: Argentina 0 – 0 Mexico

Argentina’s last match heading into the Rio Olympics ended in a 0-0 draw.

Julio OLARTICOECHEA’s team played a 0-0 draw just as they did in their first match together against Colombia. Mexico scored a goal which in all honesty should have stood. A cross was sent into the area and goalkeeper Geronimo RULLI completely missed his punch as the ball hit a Mexican player and went in.

In the 90th minute, GIANNETTI received a second yellow card (which could easily have been a straight red) as he was sent off.
