Claudio UBEDA named new Argentina U20 coach

2

Argentina’s U20 team has a new coach and the process of how he was chosen was made in typical AFA fashion.

Former Racing Club player Claudio UBEDA (who’s only managerial experience is coaching Huracan in 2008) has been named the new coach by the AFA. A total of 44 coaches sent in projects to the AFA to be the new Argentina U20 team. However, the AFA picked UBEDA, who was not among those 44 and he did not send in a folder with a project.

Gerardo SALORIO and Fernando BATISTA will be part of his coaching staff. In January, there’s the U20 South American championship which is going to run between January 13 until February 5 in Ecuador.

Paulo DYBALA double, Lionel MESSI scores, AGUERO misses, more

31

Paulo DYBALA continues to show why he should start for Argentina, Lionel MESSI scores 3 minutes back from injury, Manuel LANZINI scored his second goal of the season for West Ham while Sergio AGUERO missed yet another penalty.

Paulo DYBALA scored a fantastic free kick and added a second from the penalty spot to give Juventus a 2-1 win against Udinese.

Lionel MESSI didn’t wait long before registering his first goal back from injury. Three minutes into his return, MESSI scored past former Argentine international goalkeeper German LUX (goalkeeper at the 2005 Confederations Cup) in Barcelona’s 4-1 win against Deportivo.

Manuel LANZINI secured the victory for the Hammers in West Ham’s 1-0 win away to Crystal Palace. LANZINI was at the end of a great move to side foot it into the back of the net.

The terrible week for Sergio AGUERO continues. After having missed a penalty kick for Argentina (not that I have to remind anyone here) against Paraguay earlier in the week, AGUERO missed his second of the week in Manchester City’s 1-1 draw at home to Everton.

Diego MARADONA on Lionel MESSI: “Leave him in peace!”

39

Diego MARADONA took to the media to defend Lionel MESSI.

MARADONA hasn’t always backed MESSI but in his latest comments, Diego made sure to defend the National Team captain. Here’s what he had to say:

“He (MESSI) doesn’t have to lift a World Cup to be considered a phenomenon. Enough with that! Enough of the whole he doesn’t have a personality, that he doesn’t sing the anthem… Leave him in peace!”

“The kid has all the right to retire from the National Team like he did during the summer. All the right. And then everyone comes out asking him to come back. Even the ones which were criticizing him before!”
