Claudio Chiqui Tapia wins third term as AFA President

Claudio Chiqui Tapia has now opposition in the AFA elections and will remain as AFA President.

Chiqui Tapia ran unopposed and will remain AFA President until December 2028, with his third reign beginning in October. This would be Tapia’s third term as President, having taken over in March 2017.

Under his tenure as President, the Argentina national team has won four trophies. The first being the 2021 Copa America and that was followed by the 2022 Finalissima.

After that, the Argentina national team won the biggest trophy in football, the World Cup and recently won the 2024 Copa America.

Taty Castellanos scored for Lazio in their 2-1 win vs. Hellas Verona, making it three goals in four matches.

Castellanos had the second goal for Lazio in their win, to make it two goals in his last two games. With the score at 1-1, it was a cross from a corner kick into the penalty area and a falling Castellanos scored to give them the 2-1 lead.

Julián Álvarez scored his first goal for Atlético Madrid in their 3-0 win vs. Valencia at the Cívitas Metropolitano stadium in Matchday 5 of La Liga.

The “spider” came onto the pitch in the 60th minute and scored his team’s third goal in the 90th + 4 minute. Álvarez finished with his left foot inside the six-yard box after a rebound. His teammates joined him in his characteristic Spider-Man celebration.

Rodrigo De Paul started for Diego Simeone’s team and was substituted off in the 60th minute. He had an assist on the first goal.

Ángel Correa and Giuliano Simeone came on in the second half and Enzo Barrenechea played the entire second half for Valencia.

Lucas Martínez Quarta scored for Fiorentina in their 3-2 loss vs. Atalanta in Serie A’s matchday 4. The 28-year-old center-back opened the scoring in the 15th minute after a series of rebounds in the six-yard box.

The Argentine Lucas Beltrán didn’t play any minutes as he remained on the bench for the whole game.

With this result, Fiorentina is in 14th place in Serie A with 3 points, with one win and three losses, while Atalanta is 8th with 6 points, with two wins and two losses.
