Franco Mastantuono will join Real Madrid in August for $45 million.
Mastantuono is going to be playing with Real Madrid. According to Fabrizio Romano, the 17 year old is going to join Real Madrid on a six year deal.
It will be for $45 million which will be paid in installments. River Plate are asking for him to play the Club World Cup with them and to join Real Madrid in August.
The Argentine is presently with the Argentina national team and played his first match with Argentina in their 1-0 win against Chile.
On this day twenty years ago, Argentina won 3-1 against Brazil with Hernán Crespo scoring twice and Juan Román Riquelme scoring a memorable goal.
June 8, 2005, José Pekerman’s Argentina qualified for the 2006 World Cup with a 3-1 win against Brazil. Lucho González would play the pass in to Crespo who would score three minutes into the match to give Argentina the 1-0 lead.
At 1-0, it was Juan Román Riquelme who would score the goal of the match. He would start it all with a back heel flick in the air and the ball would get back to him where his left footed effort from distance would beat Dida for Argentina’s second goal of the match.
With Argentina leading 2-0, it was a short corner kick taken by Riquelme. He would pass it to Javier Saviola and Saviola with a low cross into the penalty area which found Crespo who scored a header for his second goal.
Brazil would score one goal but it was Argentina with the 3-1 win. Here was the line-up for the match:
Leandro Paredes spoke about Lionel Messi’s injury at the Copa America final.
Paredes was on the bench when Lionel Messi was substituted out in the 2024 Copa America final with an injury. He would go on to be substituted into the match and play an instrumental role in the winning goal scored by Lautaro Martínez to win Argentina the Copa America.
Lionel Messi was shown crying on the bench with a swollen ankle while Paredes was sitting next to him. Speaking in an interview with Telefe, here is what Paredes had to say about Messi’s injury:
“I didn’t look at Messi because I couldn’t hear him cry. I was surprised that he cried like that because it is very difficult for him to show what he is going through. Seeing him like that made me feel bad.”
Alejandro Garnacho is set to leave Manchester United with three Premier League clubs interested.
Garnacho will not be continuing with Manchester United next season. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Argentine will be leaving Manchester United with a decision made from both himself and the club.
There are three clubs very keen on him with Bayer Leverkusen and Italian clubs interested in signing him. He won the League Cup and the FA Cup with Manchester United, playing 124 matches, scoring 23 goals and having 16 assists.
The Argentina national team were back in training on Saturday before Tuesday’s World Cup qualifying match against Colombia.
Argentina trained for the first time after their 1-0 World Cup qualifying win against Chile on Thursday. The team had Friday off to rest before Saturday’s training.
Ian Subiabre, Maher Carrizo and Valentino Acuña of the Argentina U20 national team also trained with the team. The team will train on Sunday morning.
