Matías Soulé, Santiago Hezze called up to Argentina U23 team for Olympic preparations

Matías Soulé and Santiago Hezze have been called up to the Argentina U23 team to prepare for the Olympics.

Soulé and Hezze will be with the team, preparing for the games in France. According to Gastón Edul, both players will be joining Javier Mascherano’s team.

The 21 year old Soulé has had a solid season with Frosinine, scoring 11 goals and three assists in 35 matches.

Santiago Hezze is in the Conference League final against Fiorentina.

Julián Álvarez, Emiliano Martínez, Nicolás Otamendi, overage Argentina players at Olympics

Julián Álvarez, Emiliano Martínez and Nicolás Otamendi will be the three overage players for Argentina at the Olympics.

Argentina Olympic coach Javier Mascherano now has his three overage players for the Olympics in France. According to Ariel Senosiain, the three players over the age of 23 which will represent Argentina at the Olympic games will be Julián Álvarez, Emiliano Martínez and Nicolás Otamendi.

Two names that will be going to the Olympics are Lucas Beltrán and Alan Varela, with both Fiorentina and FC Porto authorizing them to join the team. Argentina are also making progress with Enzo Fernandez to get him to be with the team in France.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni spoke about Argentina’s two friendly matches in June and preparing for the Copa America.

Lionel Scaloni and Argentina will be playing two friendly matches in June in the United States. The first will be on June 9 against Ecuador at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois and the second on June 14 against Guatemala at Commanders Field in Washington, DC.

Scaloni to Major League Soccer where he commented about Argentina and preparing for the Copa America in the United States. Here is what he had to say:

“When playing against Argentina, they play against the champion. But for us, nothing much changes.

“Always playing with this shirt means going out to compete in every game and it will not change our way of approaching each match. It is true that we have one more star on our chest and the responsibility is to continue competing. But our way of playing will be the same.

“A tour before a Cup is always important and especially because you adjust the last details for the debut.

“The players are coming off a long season in which most have played a lot of matches and it is time to join forces. They are two matches that would have the team ready to compete.”

A preliminary list of 29 players for the Copa America and the two matches against Honduras and Ecuador was released by Lionel Scaloni on Monday. Here is the list of players:

Paulo Dybala will not play the Copa America with Argentina

Paulo Dybala will not play at the Copa America with the Argentina national team.

Dybala was not picked for the two matches in June before the Copa America and he won’t be picked for the Copa America. According to Gastón Edul, the coaching staff already spoke to Dybala and explained their decision.

The 30 year old was also left out of the team which won the 2021 Copa America but was part of the team that won the 2022 World Cup. Here is the preliminary list of players for the Copa America and the team for the June matches.

Argentina are making progress to get Enzo Fernández to play at the Olympics.

Javier Mascherano will have both Lucas Beltrán and Alan Varela at the Olympics and could be getting Enzo Fernandez. According to Gastón Edul, Argentina is making progress in getting Enzo Fernández to be with the team for the Olympic games.

They would join the base of Emiliano Martínez, Nicolás Otamendi and Julián Álvarez. Enzo is 23 years of age and would not count as an overage player but clubs are not obliged to release players for the games in France.

Mascherano’s team are in Group B with Morocco, Iraq and Ukraine. They play their first match on July 24 against Morocco in Saint-Étienne, their second game against Iraq on July 27 in Lyon and their last group match against Ukraine on July 30 in Lyon.
