Lionel Messi will reportedly undergo studies on Friday and will be joining the team in training in the afternoon but is set to miss Argentina vs. Peru for now.

Messi was visibly not fully fit for Argentina vs. Peru on Tuesday and he is set to miss Argentina’s next match. According to Gastón Edul, Messi will be undergoing tests on Friday.

He will be joining the team for training in the afternoon and for now, it’s only confirmed that he will not play for Peru to rest until the quarter finals.

Marcos Acuña has muscle discomfort and will not be playing for Argentina vs. Peru.

Acuña will not play against Peru on Saturday. According to Gastón Edul, the 32 year old has muscle discomfort and will not be playing in Argentina’s next match.

The aim is for Acuña to be back for the quarter finals. Acuña did not start in Argentina’s 1-0 win vs. Chile on Tuesday but did come on as a substitute.

Alejandro Garnacho and Valentín Carboni could be making their Copa America debuts for Argentina against Peru.

Garnacho and Carboni have yet to play at the 2024 Copa America with Argentina but that could change. According to Gastón Edul, boht players have a lot of chances of making their Copa America debuts with the Argentina national team against Peru on Saturday.

Nicolás Otamendi, Germán Pezzella and Exequiel Palacios would also get minutes in the match.
