Facundo Medina has been called up to the Argentina national team.

Medina is in the team for the September World Cup qualifying matches. The AFA made the announcement on Sunday.

The 24 year old defender was previously part of the team for the June friendly matches where he played against Indonesia. Lisandro Martínez was substituted out with what appeared to be an injury for Manchester United and this could possibly be seen as an emergency called up by Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni.

Lautaro Martínez scores twice for Inter, reaches five goals for the season

Lautaro Martínez scored twice for Inter as he has reached five goals for the season.

Martínez cannot stop scoring. The World Cup winner has now scored five goals in three league matches.

Inter were leading 1-0 when Thuram played a pass in to Lautaro and he made no mistake from inside the penalty area, scoring to give Inter the 2-0 lead. He made it four goals in three matches and would show his predator like instincts for the second goal.

A low cross into the penalty area and Lautaro somehow gets to it and scores off his first touch to make it 4-0 for Inter.

Nicolás González and Lucas Beltrán both started for Fiorentina.

Lisandro Martínez was substituted out with an injury for Manchester United but was seen leaving with Alejandro Garnacho.

Martínez was substituted out with what looked to be an injury for Manchester Untied in the second half against Arsenal. No medical report has come out but a picture by Simon Peach shows Lisandro walking without a protective boot or crutches.

Alejandro Garnacho was brought into the match and looked to have scored the winning goal for Manchester United but it was called off for offside. Both players have been called up to the Argentina national team for the September World Cup qualifying matches.

Neymar on Lionel Messi: “He’s gone to heaven with the Argentina national team”

Neymar spoke about Lionel Messi winning the World Cup with the Argentina national team and their time together with Paris Saint-Germain.

Lionel Messi and Neymar are both close friends and went through the highest of high’s at club level with FC Barcelona to their lowest of lows in Paris. The Brazilian gave an interview to GE Globo and he spoke about Lionel Messi winning the World Cup with the Argentina national team. Here is what he had to say:

“I was very happy for the year he had but at the same time very sad because he’s experienced both sides of the coin. He’s gone to heaven with the Argentina national team, he’s won everything in recent years and with Paris, he lived through hell. We lived through hell, both he and I.

“We’re upset because we’re not there for nothing. We’re there to do our best, to be champions, to try and make history, that’s why we got back together. We got together to make history. Unfortunately, we didn’t succeed.

“Messi left (PSG) in a way that, in terms of football, he didn’t deserve. For everything he is, everything he does, anyone who knows him knows that he’s a guy who trains, who fights. If he loses, he gets angry and he was unfairly charged in my opinion.

“But at the same time I was very happy that he won the World Cup. As you said, football was fair this time, since the Brazilian team went out, Messi deserved to end his career like that.”

Ángel Di María scored and reached three league goals this season for Benfica.

Di María made it three goals in four league matches this season and had two assists in Benfica’s 4-0 win vs. Vitoria. With the score at 0-0, the 35 year old played an outside of the foot pass into the penalty area and the defender Fernandes tried to clear it but scored an own goal.

With Benfica leading 1-0, it was a low pass into the penalty area and an unmarked Ángel Di María scored from close range to give Benfica the 2-0 lead.

Benfica were leading 2-0 as Di María played a pass to Kokcu who scored from outside of the penalty area.
