Mac Allister has put pen to paper and has left Brighton for Anfield. The club announced on Thursday the signing of the World Cup winner as Mac Allister joins them until June 2028.

The Argentine joins them after having spent three and a half seasons at Brighton, joining them in January 2019 from Argentinos Juniors. He played a total of 112 matches for Brighton, scoring 20 times.

With the Argentina national team, Mac Allister was part of the 2022 World Cup winning team, providing an assist in the final. Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, here’s what Mac Allister had to say about joining the club:

“It feels amazing. It’s a dream come true, it’s amazing to be here and I can’t wait to get started.

“I wanted to be in [from] the first day of pre-season, so it’s good that everything is done. I’m looking forward to meeting my teammates.

“It was a fantastic year for me – World Cup, what we achieved with Brighton – but now it’s time to think about Liverpool and try to be a better player and a better human being every day.

“Since I won the World Cup, I said that I want to win more trophies and I think that this club will help me to do that – that’s the aim and when you are in a big club like this one you have to win trophies. So, that’s what I want.

“Since I arrived here, I can see how big this club is – the players we have, the staff, everyone. I’m really pleased and looking forward to playing for this club.”

While Liverpool did not disclose the transfer fee, it is believed to be for £35 million.

Lionel Messi has confirmed and stated that he will be going to Inter Miami.

Messi announced in an interview with Mundo Deportivo that he will not be going back to Barcelona but will be playing in MLS. The Best player in the World gave an interview to Mundo Deportivo which was released on their Twitch channel on stream. Here is what Messi had to say:

“I won’t go back to Barcelona, I will go to Inter Miami.”

About a possible return to Barcelona:

“I really wanted to return, I was very excited to be able to return, but, on the other hand, after having experienced what I experienced when I left, I didn’t want to be in the same situation again. I didn’t want to leave my future in someone else’s hands.”

“Although I heard that it was said that La Liga had accepted everything and that everything was fine for me to return, there were still many other things that had to happen.”

“I heard that Barcelona had to sell players or lower player salaries and the truth is that I didn’t want to go through that. When I left, La Liga had also accepted that they could register me and in the end it couldn’t be done.”

“I wanted to make my own decision and that’s why I didn’t return to Barça. Although I would have loved it, it couldn’t be.

“Actually, I spoke very little with President Laporta, once or twice at most. With Xavi I do have a lot of communication. With Xavi, we talked about the possibility of me coming back. We were very excited. We kept in communication.”

“So many things have been said, so many things have been leaked, so many lies were told, but I cannot go out and deny everything that’s being said.

“These were two years at PSG in which I was not happy, I did not enjoy myself, and that affected my family life.”

He also spoke about his family:

“I’m at a moment where I want to get out of focus a bit, think more about my family. The last two years haven’t been so well for my family.”

“When the media mess with my family and start talking about things they don’t know anything about, that bothers me a bit.

“It was very hard what I experienced two years ago, when I left Barça. It’s a very ugly stage. I was excited about the new season, and my children about their new year in school. I had to make a hasty decision on my future.”

Regarding his time at PSG:

“These were two years at PSG in which I was not happy, I did not enjoy myself, and that affected my family life.”
