Mauricio Pochettino has been announced as the new coach of Chelsea.

Pochettino is back coaching in the Premier League. Chelsea announced on Monday that Pochettino has signed a contract with the club and his new role will begin on 1 July.

He has signed a two year contract. Chelsea’s co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley had this to say:

“Mauricio’s experience, standards of excellence, leadership qualities and character will serve Chelsea Football Club well as we move forward. He is a winning coach, who has worked at the highest levels, in multiple leagues and languages. His ethos, tactical approach and commitment to development all made him the exceptional candidate.”

The 51 year old started his managerial career at Espanyol in La Liga before coaching Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. He last coached Paris Saint-Germain in 2021-2022 for one season.

Lionel Messi has been included in the Ligue 1 Team of the Season.

Messi makes the best eleven in Ligue 1 and is the only Argentine in the team. Messi won Ligue 1 with PSG, scoring the goal which gave them the league.

The Argentine has 16 goals and 16 assists in 31 matches. Here are the eleven in the team:

Brice Samba; Nuno Mendes, Kevin Danso, Chancel Mbemba, Achraf Hakimi; Seko Fofana, Valentin Rongier, Khephren Thuram; Kylian Mbappe, Lois Openda, Lionel Messi
