River Plate have qualified for the 2025 FIFA World Cup.

Martín Demichelis and River Plate are the first Argentine team to qualify for the 2025 FIFA World Cup which will be held in the United States. River Plate won 2-0 against Libertad on Tuesday in the Copa Libertadores and that win qualifies them for next year’s tournament.

A total of 27 teams have qualified for the new 32 team format which will run in the United States from June 15 until July 13 next year. Here are the teams that have qualified:

Emiliano Martínez was shown celebrating Aston Villa qualifying for the Champions League.

Martínez is a big reason why Aston Villa are in the Champions League. The Argentine has kept nine clean sheets this season and with Tottenham Hotspur mathematically out of a Champions League spot, it will be Villa, Alexis Mac Allister’s Liverpool and reigning Premier League champions Manchester City and Julián Álvarez who will be playing in Europe’s top club competition next season.

The 31 year old was shown celebrating Villa’s qualifying for the Champions League and Emiliano was shown spraying coach Unai Emery with champagne. This is Villa’s first time in the competition in 42 years.

Coach Marcelo Gallardo linked to AC Milan

Coach Marcelo Gallardo is being linked to AC Milan, according to Sky Sports.

The 48-year-old Argentine and Al Ittihad are set to part ways, per reports by Fabrizio Romano, as the relationship between Gallardo and the club is “very complicated.” The Saudi club has lost its last four matches, with the latest being a 0-5 defeat, and is currently in fifth position in the Saudi Pro League.

According to the Italian journalist, the final detail to be clarified is whether the former River Plate coach will leave Al Ittihad now or in June.

On the other hand, there have already been reports of an initial contact between AC Milan and the Argentine coach. According to Argentine journalist Gastón Edul, AC Milan “has asked for a meeting” with Gallardo.

Julián Aude of LA Galaxy contacted by Italy

Julián Aude of the LA Galaxy has been contacted by the Italian FA.

Aude has represented the Argentina national team at youth level but has been contacted by Italy. According to Diario Ole, he was contacted by the Italian FA to know if he has Italian citizenship and if he does, if he would be interested in playing for the Italy national team.

The 21 year old left back joined the LA Galaxy last year on a five year deal.

Nicolás González scored and reached 10 league goals with Fiorentina.

González drew Fiorentina level after Monza had taken the 1-0 lead. It was a cross into the penalty area and a well placed header by the 26 year old drew Fiorentina level.

The Argentine now has 14 goals this season, one away which would equal a career high season in goals, when he scored 15 with Stuttgart in the 2. Bundesliga.

Lucas Martínez Quarta also started the match with Fiorentina while Lucas Beltrán was substituted into the match and Gino Infantino remained on the bench. For Monza, Valentín Carboni was substituted in the second half.
