Julián Álvarez and Giuliano Simeone score for Atletico Madrid in 5-1 win vs. Eintracht Frankfurt

Julián Álvarez and Giuliano Simeone both scored for Atletico Madrid in their 5-1 win against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Álvarez had one goal and two assists for Atletico Madrid in their win against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League. The Argentine made it six goals and two assists in his last three matches with Atletico Madrid.

With Diego Simeone’s team leading 2-0, Álvarez made a run down the wing and into the penalty area, passing it to Antoine Griezmann who scored from close range to give Atletico Madrid the 3-0 lead. His second assist came off a corner kick, a cross into the penalty area found Giuliano Simeone who would head the ball and score.

Atletico Madrid were awarded a penalty kick and it was Álvarez who would take it. He would do the Panenka penalty kick and chip it, with the goalkeeper getting a hand to it but Álvarez would score to give Atletico Madrid the 5-1 lead.

Nahuel Molina and Nicolás González would be substituted into the match for Atletico Madrid.

Lautaro Martínez scores twice for Inter in 3-0 win vs. Slavia Praha

Lautaro Martínez scored twice for Inter in their 3-0 win against Slavia Praha.

Martínez had two goals for Inter in their Champions League win. With the score at 0-0, Lautaro intercepted the pass from the Slavia Praha goalkeeper and scored to give Inter the 1-0 lead.

With Inter leading 2-0, Bastoni played a pass in to Lautaro and the Argentine would score his second goal of the game.

The Argentine also made club history with Inter, becoming the first player in the club’s history to score in seven different seasons in the Champions League.

Argentina team for October matches to be announced this week

The Argentina national team for the month of October is set to be announced this week.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni is set to announce the team for October later this week. Argentina will play Venezuela on October 10 in Miami and on October 14 in Puerto Rico.

Lionel Scaloni will be without Julio Soler, who was part of the team for the September World Cup qualifiers as he is with the Argentina U20 national team for the U20 World Cup.

Taty Castellanos scored and assisted for Lazio in their 3-0 win against Genos.

Castellanos made it two goals and three assists in five matches with Lazio in their win. With the score at 0-0, Castellanos played a through ball in from midfield to find Matteo Cancellieri who scored to give Lazio the 1-0 lead.

With Lazio leading 1-0, it was a pass into the penalty area which would find the Argentine and as Castellanos was falling, he would score Lazio’s second goal of the match.

The Champions League continues on Tuesday with nine matches and eight of them involving Argentine players.

In the early matches on Tuesday, Franco Mastantuono and Real Madrid travel to Kazakhstan to play against FC Kairat and Zaid Romero with Club Brugge travel to Italy to play Atalanta.

Gerónimo Rulli, Leonardo Balerdi, Facundo Medina and Olympique de Marseille host Ajax. Lautaro Martínez and Inter host Slavia Praha.

Enzo Fernández, Facundo Buonanotte and Alejandro Garnacho with Chelsea host Benfica who have Nicolás Otamendi and Enzo Barrenechea. For Benfica, Gianluca Prestianni is with the Argentina U20 national team for the U20 World Cup.

Mauro Icardi and Galatasaray host Alexis Mac Allister and Liverpool while Cristian Romero and Tottenham Hotspur travel to Norway to play against FK Bodø/Glimt. Juan Musso, Thiago Almada, Nahuel Molina, Julián Álvarez, Giuliano Simeone and Nicolás González with Atletico Madrid host Eintracht Frankfurt.
