The Argentina U20 national team will play Nigeria at the U20 World Cup.
Diego Placente’s team finished first in their group and will play Nigeria in the Round of 16 in Chile. Nigeria finished third in their group behind Norway and Colombia.
Argentina won all three matches in the group, first a 3-1 win against Cuba, followed by a 4-1 win against Australia and a 1-0 win against Italy in their last match. Argentina will play Nigeria on Wednesday.
Enzo Fernández, Cristian Romero and Marcos Senesi are in Miami and have joined the Argentina national team.
Fernández, Romero and Senesi are the first three players to arrive in Miami for Argentina’s friendly match against Venezuela. The Premier League trio arrived on Sunday and Lionel Scaloni will have the team train on Monday.
The Argentina national team will play Venezuela on October 10 in Miami and on October 14 will play Puerto Rico in Chicago.
JoaquÃn Panichelli scored twice and ValentÃn Barco had an assist for Strasbourg in their 5-0 win against Angers.
Panichelli made it five goals in seven matches for Strasbourg in their win. With the score at 0-0, Barco got onto the loose ball and played a pass to Panichelli inside the penalty area and he scored to give Strasbourg the 1-0 lead.
With Strasbourg leading 1-0, it was a low pass into the penalty area to Panichelli and the Argentine would turn and score his second goal of the match.
MatÃas Soulé scored and assisted for AS Roma in their 2-1 win against Fiorentina.
Soulé made it three goals and two assists for AS Roma in six matches and two goals and two assists in his last three matches. With Fiorentina leading 1-0, the ball fell to the Argentina and his first time effort from outside of the penalty area beat the goalkeeper and he scored to draw AS Roma level.
Minutes later, AS Roma were awarded a corner kick and it was Soulé who would cross it to Bryan Cristante and he would score to give AS Roma the 2-1 lead.
Paulo Dybala was brought on as a substitute for AS Roma.
Lionel Messi had a hat trick of assists for Inter Miami in their 4-1 win against New England.
Messi made it 24 goals and 14 assists for Inter Miami in the league. With the score at 0-0, Messi received the ball outside of the penalty area and played a pass in to Tadeo Allende who scored to give Inter Miami the 1-0 lead.
At 1-0 for Inter Miami, Messi dribble inside the penalty area, beat his marker and played a pass to Jordi Alba who scored Inter Miami’s second goal of the game. But the Argentine had one more assist.
The Argentine would play a cross from deep to find Allende who would control and score his second goal, Messi’s third assist of the match.
Jordi Alba would score another goal to make it 4-1 for Inter Miami.
