Cristian Romero spoke about the injury he sustained during Argentina’s match against Austria at the World Cup.
Romero was substituted out with an injury for Argentina in their 2-0 win against Austria. The Argentine spoke to the media after the match. Here is what he had to say:
“I felt a new pain but I know that in three or four days, I will be as good as new. It’s already done.”

Yesterday the players worked had, especially our midfield and Lisandro. But we should not be confused by the result. We defended a narrow lead of just 1 goal for 50 minutes. A freak shot from long range, a deflection, a corner or free kick and gone is our lead. I wonder what the response here would have been here if Austria’s header in the 88th minute went in instead of just wide.
A two goal margin makes play so much easier and more relaxed. IMHO, we should have pushed for the second goal way earlier.
I have some observations. Mac alister is playing too deep. His game making quality and ball distribution is not a good enough. He is more like box to box mf.

Scaloni is playing almeda in left because there is no right footed winger. Nico and simeone is not reliable.
What is the point of taking lo celso instead Buendia. If Buendia was selected then at least we would have options. Scaloni is choose old players because he doesn’t want break winning team. I believe that’s not wrong. But selecting Montiel, lo celso. For me these 2 players re absolutely wrong selection when we dont have no good option in RB and left wing.

Assuming Argentina keep winning, the knockouts will be in the order of Miami, Atlanta, Kansas, Atlanta, New Jersey.
Miami is Messi and De Paul’s home ground currently.
Atlanta is Almada’s former home ground and some of his career best performances came there.
Kansas is where Argentina and Messi started with hat-trick against Algeria.
New Jersey has long history with Messi. His first match was a hattrick against Brazil in a 4-3 friendly win. Well, not everybody here are the same though.
I did mention Almada’s secondary assist in the thread “Lionel Messi scores twice for Argentina in 2-0 win vs. Austria”.
And I am definitely not one to talk endlessly of records. Those are the same people who always compare Messi with CRonaldo, because for them only goals matter. But in my in mind, Messi has always been so much more than a goal scorer. Also, I actually believe one of Messi’s best world cup performances was in 2010 world cup when he had 0 goals but was absolutely brilliant with the ball. I heard that in that 2010 QF game Argentina players suffered from fatigue due to long and late travels before the Germany match. Sure, Maradona probably should have cared a bit more about defence, but that was probably not the only factor behind the bad loss against Germany.
Almada is still not at his prime. But that goal was clever play. Excellent passing by medina as well. Our LBs did well yesterday. Tagliofico was solid as well. I think romera will be rested and ota will start. Besides Paz , lo celso , Gonzalez , Paredes should also start.
Regarding Molina, dont know who will rotate him. Maybe Simeone as a makeshift RWB ?
