Lisandro Martínez, Alejandro Garnacho win Carabao Cup with Manchester United

Lisandro Martínez and Alejandro Garnacho won the Carabao Cup with Manchester United in a 2-0 win vs. Newcastle United.

Martínez started the match for United and was one of their best players as he lifted his first trophy with the club. A goal by Casemiro and an own goal by Sven Botman saw United win and the two Argentine players adding trophies to their cabinet.

Alejandro Garnacho was on the bench for United and did not play in the final. For Lisandro, this is his first trophy with United to go with four he won at Ajax and the World Cup, Copa America and Finalissima with the Argnetina national team.

Garnacho has won his first senior trophy, having won last season’s FA Youth Cup with the club. Both players celebrated winning the trophy while wearing the Argentina flag.

Thiago Almada scored two goals in injury time for Atlanta United in their 2-1 win vs. San Jose.

Almada has had a great start to the season for Atlanta United. After winning the World Cup with the Argentina national team, Almada scored twice in injury time for Atlanta United to win them the match.

The 21 year old drew Atlanta United level in the 93rd minute with a strike from outside of the penalty area. But he was not done just yet.

With the score at 1-1, Atlanta United were awarded a free kick and up stepped Almada. The Argentine would score in the 99th minute to give Atlanta United the win.

Julián Álvarez scores for Manchester City, Maximo Perrone makes debut

Julián Álvarez scored for Manchester City in their 4-1 win vs. Bournemouth with Maximo Perrone making his debut in the match.

Álvarez scored his fifth goal in the Premier League, his 10th goal of the season. This was the 23 year old’s first league start since the 1-0 loss against Tottenham at the start of the month.

The Argentine scored the first goal of the match as the ball fell to him inside the penalty area and he would score from close range. Máximo Perrone started the match on the bench but was brought on in his first match for his new club. Marcos Senesi started the match for Bournemouth.

Emiliano Buendía scored for Aston Villa as Emiliano Martínez kept a clean sheet in the 2-0 win against Everton.

Buendía was brought on as a substitute for Aston Villa and immediately had an impact. The 26 year old helped push Villa forward as they drew a penalty for their first goal of the match.

At 1-0, the ball was played to Buendía and the Argentine got the better of three Everton defenders and England’s starting goalkeeper as he scored to give Aston Villa the 2-0 lead.

Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez kept a clean sheet, his sixth of the Premier League season.

Lucas Boyé scored for Elche in their 3-2 loss vs. Real Betis.

Boyé made it two goals for the season for Elche in a match which saw three red cards. Elche took the 1-0 lead very early in the match and Boyé made it 2-0 with a shot from outside of the penalty area.

The 26 year old was part of the Argentina national team last year but was not part of the team which won the Finalissima or the World Cup. Lisandro Magallán of Betis started the match but was red carded.

Germán Pezzella started for Real Betis as part of their come back win. Betis scored the last goal of the match in injury time.
