Lautaro Martínez is a doubt for Argentina against Uruguay.

Martínez could miss Argentina’s World Cup qualifying match against Uruguay on Thursday. According to Fernando Czyz and Nani Senra of DSportsRadio, Lautaro did not train with his team mates due to a muscle overload.

He could miss the match against Uruguay but be fully fit for the World Cup qualifying match against Brazil.

The Argentina national team will play a friendly match against the Argentina U20 team on Saturday.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni has announced that on Saturday, the team will play a friendly match for charity against the U20 team. All proceeds from the match will go to the Penna Hospital of Bahía Blanca as Bahía Blanca has been hit with severe floods.

Nicolás González could replace Lionel Messi for Argentina

Nicolás González could replace Lionel Messi for Argentina in the match against Uruguay.

González has chances of replacing Lionel Messi in the starting eleven against Uruguay on Friday. According to Joaquín Bruno of TyC Sports, the 26 year old will replace Messi and it could be a 4-4-2 formation.

Lionel Messi did not make the Argentina team due to an injury. The Argentina national team will play Uruguay on Friday and Brazil on Tuesday.

Lionel Messi, Paulo Dybala, Alejandro Garnacho cut from Argentina team

Lionel Messi, Paulo Dybala, Alejandro Garnacho and more players were cut from the Argentina team for the two World Cup qualifying matches.

Messi is the big name that was part of the preliminary Argentina team but did not make the final team for the two matches against Uruguay and Brazil. The 37 year old misses out due to injury.

Paulo Dybala is another big name for Argentina and he is out after being substituted with an injury for AS Roma in their last league match. Alejandro Garnacho does not make it as reports state that Benjamín Domínguez has won a place in the team over Garnacho.

Gonzalo Montiel is also cut from the team, as are Gio Lo Celso and Claudio Echeverri. Here are the players that have been called up:

Messi has not made the final list of players for the two World Cup qualifiers. The 37 year old misses out due to an injury.

The Argentina national team will play Uruguay on March 21 and Brazil on March 25 in Buenos Aires.
