Lionel MESSI: “We will not speak to the press anymore”

101

All 26 players were present at the press conference after Argentina’s 3-0 win.

The team held a press conference after the win where Lionel MESSI lead it and with a microphone in hand, had this to say:

“We’re here to let you know that we will no longer be communicating with the press. The accusations that were made towards LAVEZZI were huge. We regret that it has to be this way but we have no other choice. We know that many of you don’t play that game.”

“We were accused a lot. No respect was being shown and we never said anything. But this accusation against LAVEZZI was it. If we don’t stop it today, we’ll never stop it. We know that you will continue to criticize us, that’s fine. However, some got into our personal lives.”

“We wanted to say this in front of everyone and not release a statement. We didn’t want to hide from anyone. These past two weeks were filled with personal aggression, not football criticism. You can criticize us for winning or losing, but when you get personal we will draw the line.”

What happened was some in the media accused LAVEZZI of smoking marijuana yesterday and stated that as the reason why he did not make the bench.

  1. Obstacles to the development of Argentine Football
    (1) AFA: Corrupt, Bankrupt
    (2) Argentine Press/Media: Good for nothing, actually doing more harm than good
    (3) Soccer fanatics in Argentina: Dwell on past glories and wish to be a world cup winner without a plan and action (Bystanders)

  2. Damn luck to win that 3-0. It would have been a loss if Messi were not there.

We need a plan to rebuild our future now, or we’re facing a catastrophic elimination like 2002.

  3. Raj, I was glad to find your post and enjoyed reading it. 

The current state of Argentine National Team
    (1) Coach: The AFA and a puppet, called Bozo
    (2) Midfield: Never mind. Our Messi will be there too.
    (3) Playmaker: Messi
    (4) Striker and goal getter: Messi
    (5) Scapegoat: Messi
If opponent team blocks Messi, the game will be a piece of cake for them.

The current state of unemployed ‘86 World cup winners: Babbling not to be forgotten

Some Mundo people who claimed Argentine N/T is strong without Messi didn’t change their mind and repeated things listed below.
    (1) Argentine players are like children sitting around their mommy when Messi plays and can’t grow mentally (Your point of view about those Argentine players that are lazy and passive)
    (2) Unbalanced and ineffective team because of Messi
    (3) Messi is a curse of Argentine national team
That is fair enough because Football fans in the world says that biased Argentine press and irrational fanatics are the great curse of Messi’s career.

I don’t want talk about the AFA corruption and unprofessionalism of Argentine press. I came to know that Argentina football is very slow to adapt to changing environment.

  4. Goal Keeper sergio Romero ,Damian Martinez (Arsenal),Willy Caballero
I think Damian Martinez is better than Rulli.

Defense : Mercado ,Otamendi ,Lisandro Lopez ,German Pezzella,Funes Mori , Alexis Soto,

Midfield : Messi , Ivan Rossi , Guido Pizzaro , Mascherano , Giovani Locelso , Franco Vazquez , Roberto Pereyra , Di maria , Lucas boye, Franco Cervi,Walter Montoya

Striker : Dybala , Alario ,Icardi ,Pratto

    4-2-3-1

    Damian Martinez
Mercado/ Walter montoya Otamendi Funes Mori Alexis Soto

    Guido Pizzaro Roberto Pereyra

    Messi Franco Vazquez Giovani Locelso

    Icardi

      • yes ,Dybala will be messi’s substitute. Dybala is not a central forward ,he is not tall enough but he is not a playmaker too.

basic 4-2-3-1 when attack it will be 3-3-1-3,Alexis soto will be an important left winger who is skillful enough to support Giovani lo celso.
        3-3-1-3 will be

        Damian martinez

        Mercado Otamendi Funes Mori

        Pereyra Guido Pizzaro Alexis soto

        Giovani lo celso
        Messi Icardi Franco Vazquez

Giovani locelso sometimes looks like a below par riquelme. He is not a winger so Alexis soto can support him. Franco vazquez is a good playmaker he can dribble and hold the ball .Both Locelso and Vasquez have some defensive ability but not too much. Pereyra is the same type to locelso just on the contrary side

Alexis soto will be another Sorin, Walter montoya can be a winger also can be a LB I think .

If we need to defense ,we can play 4-4-2 just in Mascherano Out Franco Vazquez and messi play with icardi infront. Both lucas boye and franco cervi will be two powerful dribblers , they are fast enough to play counter attack .

  5. There is no middle ground or gray area for us.
We lose –> the end of the world.
We win –> Everything is good.
In both situation we don’t look to improve.
Now that we have won talk of improving has ended.
    Status quo!

We can beat and lose to every team because of individual talent, relying only on that is a big mistake as shown in the recent finals.

    • Absolutely true! Nothing has changed since the brazil game, yet we won on accord of individual brilliance and now everything is bright again!

I remenber during the copa,I wrote something along the the line of improving further after the USA game and got destroyed by kidilthood because he thought we were the best team in the world by far!

The thing is we don’t want to change.anything forgood or bad. Its pathetic!

      • Istique
        Small nuances decide a final.
        Tim Duncan once said:
I will not stop until I turn “good” into -> “better” and “better” into -> “the best”.
        We are happy with “good”!
Al Pacino needs to give his Any Given Sunday speech!
“You find out life’s this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game – life or football – the margin for error is so small. I mean, one half a step too late or too early and you don’t quite make it. One half second too slow, too fast and you don’t quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They’re in every break of the game, every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when add up all those inches, that’s gonna make the fucking difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!”

Always try to get better even if you win 10 – 0!
Give more than 100% to win, but we give only 70% to win.

  6. [Team against Chile and Bolivia]

After victory against Colombia it’s time to build on this crucial victory, no looking back. As Chile is ahead of us in terms of point and next match they will play against Venezuela at home, it’s a must win for us against Chile as after Chile our next game is against Bolivia at La Pez. So are back on top 5 but still our place is not secured. So matches in March actually very very important. Hope we will do well against Chile and Bolivia.

So for March, some changes are must in the team and few players must need to be included.

    Goalkeeper:
    —————-

Time has come to start with Ruli. Enough of Romero, but considering Romero’s reflexes it’s not a bad idea to keep in bench.

So our goal-keepers should be: Ruli, Romero and Guzman.

    In Defense:
    —————

    Drop: Demi, Mas
    In: Garay, Tagliafico

I will keep Mori despite his poor performance should be in the team because he is capable of playing as left back. But most importantly Garay must need to be in the team. He is a leader of defense and can be called in place of Demi.

    So Defense should be:

Otamendi, Garay, Musacchio, Funes Mori, Marcado, Tagliafico, Zabaleta.

    In Midfield:
    ————-

Drop: any 1 of Banega & Enzo and 1 from Bigila & Pizarro
In: Paredes and Vazquez (if available) else call Pastore.

If Vazquez is not eligible then Pastore/Correa should be in the team. I will also take Alario in the team who is skillful and can play as right attacking midfield position. He really impressed me against Uruguay behind Messi. This is our weakest part and we don’t have many options in midfield. I won’t mind calling any player from domestic league but for now,

    So midfield should be:

Mascherano, Di Maria, Gaitan, Banega/Enzo, Bigila/Pizarro, Pardes, Vazquez/Pastore, Alario.

    In forward:
    ————–

    Not much discussion required.

    Drop: Kun, Lavezzi
    In: Icardi, Dybala

    So our strikers should be:

    Messi, Dybala, Higuain, Icardi, Pratto.

    Starting XI
    ————–

    – Time for Ruli to take number # 1 spot.
    – Garay or Musacchio should start ahead of Funes Mori.
    – Bigila must need to sit and Pardes should start ahead of him.
    – Tagliafico and Marcado should start as full backs.

    My starting XI against Chile.

    ————————————–Ruli——————————–
    —–Marcado – Musacchio/Garay——Otamendi—— Tagliafico ——
    ——————– Mascherano ———— Pardes/Pizarro———–
    ———-Messi ——————Dybala————–Di Maria————
    ————————-Icardi/Higuain/Pratto—————————–

I really wish if we had 1-2 friendly matches before March so that Bauza could have try some

That’s my opinion guys…what’s yours thought?

    • It can be more dynamic like this—-

      —————————–Rulli————————-
      —-Mussachiho——Mascarano—–Otamendi
      Perez—Vasquaz—Peredes–Maria —Piyatti-

      —MESSI——————DYBALA———

    • i agree with you on most of the players you selected and the formation, first i would drop older players who they don’t offer more than young ones even short term, imo players who need to go whithout thanking them are di michelis mas higuain aguero .it should not be a place in the team anymore for lavezzi biglia and zabaleta ,I’m really glad for pratto but he is not the solution long term,we need strikers whith his work rate but faster and more complete, icardi alario vietto they would fit that mould ,they are young and talented and can also improve. i don’t know enough pizarro and acuna ,but i like to see in the team paredes and lanzini ,as for vasquez he seems not very energic similar to pastore and banega

  7. THREE points and it’s a great relief especially after such pathetic performance against Brazil. Despite we won 3-0 but it’s not that we played some great football. It was all about Lionel Messi we won THREE points.

Regarding Bauza I still have mixed feelings.

    Positives:

    – He dared to drop both Kun and Higuain for relatively lesser player Pratto, who played his part really well.
    – Even though his team lost last 2 matches, demoralized but still always gave them confidence (e.g. his Copa Libertadores success stories in 2008 despite poor start etc etc). This man was never short of confidence.

    Few concerns/questions about Bauza:

    – In am still confused about his actual tactics and his team selection? We played better because Messi made us looked better.

    – Question remains over his team selection and Defense still looked very much vulnerable. Why both Mori and Otamendi was moving ahead without the keeping the defense guarded? What was marcado doing when twice Falcao raised for headers?

    – Just Brazil game yesterday also Di Maria and Mas hardly had 10 touches each in the first half because they saw no ball in the left and all our guys were moving around right to narrow the field. Is football played only in the right side of the field? Why can’t we are utilizing entire field? It was only because Messi was in GOD mode (unlike Brazil match) we looked good.

    – Plenty of improvements are required as one cannot always expect that Messi will save us.

    Now regarding players:

Romero – How many more years we need to tolerate this bench warmer? This guy has no clue what he is doing. He had no clue during any of Falcao’s headers (luckily who went outside), he was unmoved during James’s free-kick that hit the post. No movement nothing, no sense of urgency nothing, needless to say about his ball distribution. Between the posts we need a body so we have Romero. Anything else? He should be kicked out of the team immediately.

Marcado – He impressed me in his first few games but he never looked like the player for me who is the answer of our right back position. While attack he offered nothing but in defense he improved as the matches progresses. He is good but we need to check other options as he is not young, fast and skillful to cement in his place as right back.

Otamendi – Who told him to act as midfielder and leave the defensive line whenever he wanted? He is good when he remains on the ground on one on one situation but very very bad while chasing because he lacks pace. Most importantly he must stop his over-trying and need to keep simple thing simple. Still he remains our best defender.

Funes Mori – Our future Captain by many but how he deserve his place in the starting XI ahead of Garay or Musacchio or even Demi? Again disappointed with his performance. He started very well but looks like his form dipped a lot after warming bench in Everton. Still he is capable of playing as Left back so should retain his place but at the moment he is not a starter for me.

Mas – Played his part but not that convincing. Again not our answer to play as left back.

Mascherano and Bigila – Simple thing is any one of them should start. Mascherano’s form dipped a lot and honestly I am not sure if he is the man to marshal our defensive line in WC 2018. Who asked mascherano to take the creative role? Bauza? I often see him these days try to make through passes, needless to say to lose position. He is a player to kill the opponent’s play, that’s what he does the best but all 90 minutes I saw trying to build the attack. Again, bauza’s plan? Nothing to say about Bigila. How can bigila be our undisputed starter?

Di Maria – Invisible in the first half but improved in the 2nd half. Good to see him tracking back in the 2nd half but surprisingly he made his tap-ins looked very complicated 🙂 Despite he scored but that’s not a performance that you will look from him.

Banega – I had high hopes on him and he actually disappointed with his performance. Initial 10 minutes when Messi was able to move freely and Banega was supported him then I was thinking that yes Banega is the man need in our midfield but then as the game progresses he faded and later became invisible. I honestly feel that he was trying too much rather than keeping simple, whenever he got the ball he tried to dribble and lost the ball. Might be because of the pressure or was trying to make his mark as he had a rare start but noting but he disappointed.

Pratto – Started ahead of Kun and Higuain and needless to say that he made his mark. He did what a number # 9 supposed to do. Moved in scoring position (his goal was perfect example to be at right place in right time), pressed whenever required and moved throughout the minutes he played. Taken his goal wonderfully to give us 2-nil lead. His movement in upfront gave some space to Messi in final third that Messi missed in Brazil match.

Finally Messi – Nothing much to say about Messi for this game. The less the better 🙂 It was all Lionel Messi show against Colombia. Under pressed he played one of his best game for Argentina. Honestly his 1 goal and 2 assists doesn’t reflects how good he was against Colombia. That was masterclass from Messi.

Overall it’s much needed 3 points for Argentina. We would have been deep trouble without this victory and now it’s time to build on this crucial victory, no looking back.

  8. That is the point I have tried to make long time.
Our coaches should looking for right player all over the world. We have interesting players also in Primera, Brazil, Mexico and USA. If you are calling up only famous players from Europe what is like frosting top od iceberg it could possibly mean you have not any deeper idea of team. Pratto case, and case Brazilins players like Paulinho and Renato Augusto proved that.

We need stars frome Europe but I can’t believe to fullfill the team with stars it’s any method. You need also quiet and modest players, sometimes form nowhere.
Good coach should have some idea, concept of team before he is calling up. Bauza first want to call up all most popular players and then try do something, to glue together Frankenstein of stars. Good composition it’s not about collection of elements that are beautifill itselves (few top goalscorers together) but in mutual coexistence of the elements.

Besides, when Pratto is there instead Aguero or Higuain there’s just more movement. That two are like blocks of wood on the pitch. It’s clear we need more hardworkers in the team. We need art along hardwork. Preferably players that may gives you both.

I would like to see forwards like Messi, Icardi, Dybala, Pratto, Benedetto, Correa.

    • This is very true Gonzalo. A good team will be 3 or 4 stars and then some mix of some real gritt and talent and hard working players. Its those kind of teams who really work as a team.
Our future lies in having Dybala working with Messi, supported by Correa and Dybala. (I do not know much about Benedetto, Pratto is already old?)
It is such a pity Argentina is not that and the main reason is AFA, not the coach or the players.
Since many below commented about Barca doing everything for Messi, please do know that Messi is not demanding in Barcelona except for insisting of playing the full 90 minutes. He is not that kind of a person who interferes in matters outside of the pitch. If he was looking for friends in Barca, Dani Alves would be retiring in Barca. But he never interferes in those aspects. After 2010 Wc, there was news that he suggested Barca to check out DeMaria, but its clear he didnt insist. Also Kun would have moved to Barca from Atletico, but no.
The difference is Barca being a club, needs results and they need their players to be happy and go out of their way to keep it that way. Our AFA, on the contrary, I dont know why they are there..

  9. Some people want Messi to kick useless players out of the national team and change the incompetent coach and confront the AFA. Do you want him to say that he will not play international matches if the AFA does not accommodate his demand? This is nonsense and you’d better change your expectation about him.

Messi is highly competitive in football. But he respects people in positions of authority. I haven’t heard any rumors about him interfering in football decision at FC Barcelona. He wants to play every game and cover the full 90 minutes at Barca if he’s not injured. It’s common for players and Messi gets his playing time on merit.

A friend of mine said, if Messi kicks Higuaín and worthless players out of the team, this is self-defense.

Messi is a natural born genius. But he practiced hard and achieved everything on competition. I find it hard to believe he prevents young or local players coming to national team to keep current squad.

Frankly speaking, I once though Messi should retort on Argentine press and Maradona. But he is calm and I think it is good for everyone’s sake.

    • EUN- We just need to live with this. I cannot believe that people keep cribbing about wins and losses attributing any issue to Messi including the loss in 3 finals. I am not sure what the expectation is:

      – Messi defends Lavezzi and team as he is the captain, why should he. Let press hound the team and trespass into their private life. If I were in the team, I would expect my leader to do this. By the way if he dint do it they will tell he is not a leader
      – In Football the team is always selected by the coach with some interference from Football association. Now if a team is selected by the coach, Messi is responsible for the team selection. The surprise for me is where were all these folks when Sabella picked folks. Did Messi ensure Banega was not selected for WC14. Reality is Messi never picks the team or is part of team selection. In football it is only coaches who decide
      – Dybala will have to work under Messi’s shadow. He might be lost. Just heard that Neymar is flourishing due to Messi. I dint tell this – Neymar’s dad has told this. I haven’t seen any talented player who always puts the team in front
      – Argentine coach tactics is to keep Messi happy. DO any of the Argentine coach have tactics for the game considering Argentine football strength. They are all worried about not to lose rather than play to win.
      – Messi needs to fight with the coach to ensure the right players are there and the coach plays the right tactics. Why do we then need a coach, Messi can take that responsibility also

I am not here telling Messi is above Argentine football. The point I am trying to make is we have a systemic flaw and unfortunately there is no short term or looking at the last 2 decades any long term solution either. We have always had average to substandard coaches. Every coach have their choice of players and considering the press and the fans, 95% of them are risk averse. So none of them will bring wholesale changes in the team.

By the way I have always been against Romero, DiMichellis, Mori, Di Maria, Rojo, Biglia in the team and I am for young blood in the team to replace these folks. If these folks are removed even with an average coach, the output will be better

  10. so true: from goal
“Gonzalo Higuain had started against Brazil, while Sergio Aguero is considered by many to be Argentina’s finest centre-forward, but both would probably have missed that chance. Pratto may not be the stylist’s choice, but he put it away – and thereby vindicated his inclusion in the team”

  11. What a difference a single day makes. Our team match usually falls 5 or 6 in the morning in Indian time and the previous night never able to sleep thinking all the night about the match. If we lose, the next day also goes empty.

But after yesterday win, still remain sleepless just because I feel soo light and thoughtless and fully satisfied with life n everything. Can’t imagine how we feel when we lift the cup ?

Anyhow thanks Messi..but really hard to think whether we follow football r Argentina ( or even life ) if u retire.

    • “Or if he mistimed a tackle so badly it looked as if he was operating in a different time zone, or raced after loose balls with all the speed of a refrigerator?”

lol…that last part got me giggling..

We don’t look like a team in control of the ball and have a postive ethic on what to do with it period.
      We’ve lost our footballing ethos.
Messi’s goal was magnificent no doubt. But I didn’t celebrate because I am fed up of having to rely on messi to pull us out of the shitter.
Midfield is clumsy who are not creative enough or technically any good and there is too much uncertainty in our play.
And for the love of God could someone tell Di Maria to change his career. He cannot be doing his family any benefit of embarrassing them on the pitch.
Running at someone at full tilt and colliding into them and then asking for a free kick is what even I can do.

      Postives –
We strung 4 passes to the build up to Prato’s goal. That’s something.

Banega was getting himself about. Him and Mascherano worked hard in finding each other.
As a result of that, Messi was free to link well with Marecado.

Mas found it hard to defend against Cuadrado so Biglia doubled up which was good to see. Di Maria didn’t track back.not good .

I feel we can build on this and look to win our home games against Venezuela and Peru. A point at home to chile wouldn’t be shameful or costly as we should look to trigger our intensity in the right games.

Get a point in Ecuador would be a brilliant result. Likewise against Uruguay.
I predict that a minimum of 10 points would get us the automatic spot.
Satisfied withh the result but not quite the performance.

  12. I don’t understand why people blame Messi for Argentina’s Messi dependency.

Does Messi behave like the Messiah in the Argentine national team and FC Barcelona? No. He is a team player who fights for team victory rather than individual achievement.

The player selection and incompetent coach are endemic problems in Argentina. It has been around for two decades.

Don’t waste time blaming Messi for all the corruption showing in Argentina’s football.

Argentina needs a smart coach who can create his own tactics and say goodbye to useless players for the team and it’s not Messi’s job.

        • Hi Pablo,

I am not 100% with you or Enganche..Messi has to blame himself..he can give a presentation to media about not talking anymore on behalf of Lavezzi or team etc..he has to see what is to be done to fix the team..

We need atleast 5-6 players who can take ownership of the role..the player selection has been worst..why can’t messi take some responsibilty as a captain..

I see good workers like Pratto,Lanzini etc to be included..Not supporting Pratto because he scored..but i see him as work horse..sometimes good resumes need not be a best fit..

          • Petro: some good points,
for me a manager should be 100% running any team and his word should be law but sadly we are Argentina its an “open secret” that the afa run the team not the bobble head managers called tata or now bobble head bozo and its the afa who pick certain players because the names sell tickets hence why we see the same old same old names almost every time on the team sheet.

like you i wish many more of our players would take the field for the n.t and fight like its the last day if their lives.

    • The incompetent coaches are to blame first for picking & insisting on useless players.
The supporting cast are next to blame for playing like they don’t give a shit(aguero the biggest culprit).
Messi can’t be blamed on his performance on the pitch but he doesn’t demand enough like he does with barca..messi demands alot at barca and never tolerates crap but somehow he isn’t doing the same with Argentina and he is to blame for that.

      • glued: i wonder if its to do with barca work with messi all of the time as they respect him and know with out him barca would not have the success they have with him but the afa are only interested in messi as a commodity, a cash cow, money for their pockets and to most the afa seem to have zero interest in any ones thoughts as long as the their pockets are lined with $$.

if they really cared about any thing but them selves the afa would not be in debt, we would not be hiring 3rd rate (I’m being generous called them even 3rd rate)coaches and we would not be in this mess we are in, the afa have made us the laughing stock of the football world and bernham and bailys famous circus could not put on a show like the afa can.

  13. pratto is a good example of what some of us are saying, its not all about the names, its about best fits and every successful team has a “water carrier” every successful team has some players who just do the job and that is what prattos of this world can be for us.

im not saying he is the complete answer but more players like him a needed-urgently, players who want the shirt, work for the shirt, respect the shirt and put in the effort for the shirt every time they wear the shirt.

im still very bitter sweet over the win because i fear the changes that are still so desperately needed now wont happen as its without question they have to happen and are very needed if we are to have a good chance at 1st qualifying and 2nd winning it.

changes have to happen and this win covers nothing at all, enfact it just reinforces how bad so many of the players are and just reinforces what we all know-we are totally messi dependent.

    • Pratto is an excellent example of how putting all your faith in Europe based players in plain wrong. Players from the Argentine league, Brazilian league, Mexican league even Chinese league can contribute. It should be on merit, not the calibre of the league they are playing in. Talent alone can give only so much, but tenacity, determination, hard work and the right mental attitude is a lot more important than talent alone. Take Di Maria and Kun, full of talent, not enough work ethic and balls.

      • so many of our players lack any form of “cojones”

as much of a joke it seems but it does to me seem far too many of our players play according the size of the pay they receive.

for the n/t its a training run for them but for their clubs we see them sweating, throwing their bodies about and doing any thing to win.

  14. Thank God we won.
Hopefully we can beat Chile next.
…and hopefully Bauza rethinks somethings and makes some changes.
Pratto give his life for the team, sadly he isn’t talented to lead us to the world cup win.

The press doesn’t criticize the team about football at all> i haven’t seen a press go so easy on a team like the press does on afa, coach and players.
    Only messi is criticized.
Saying this I must admit as a man I don’t respect these players! They are making themselves look bad. like spoiled Children, soft!

  15. Messi is both our blessing and our curse. We do depend on him way too much. Hate to compare us to Barcelona because it has become such a cliche, but there he has Suarez, Neymar, Iniesta, Rakitic, Alba, etc all of whom are perfectly capable of significant contribution apart from Messi. We are nowhere near that kind of level. The supporting cast that Messi has in the national team is pretty mediocre. That’s why Barcelona won so many trophies and we did not.

    • why is he a “curse”? Is it because you think the supporting cast has capabilities but do not put an effort because Messi will save them anyway. If the supporting cast is no good to offer anything I would not call Messi as a curse. If the supporting cast is capable and just being lazy, its not Messi’s fault either.

      • Current supporting is mostly poor or burn out. But problem is that the team is permanently imbalanced for me. I’m not sure what will be when for example Dybala get more time along Messi. There is a some probability he will fade in Messi shadow as current players. Our players have mentality of kids in their DNA. They are like childrens around mother-Messi always looking for pass or back/pass to him what makes us much predictable. That is what I mean as unbalanced. Players like Higuain, Aguero, Di Maria, Biglia, Banega have mentality of supernumeraries, with no more feeling of much responsibility of themselves for result.

    • Messi is a blessing to the world of football but he is not appreciated in argentina as he is around the world ,and its because of not winning the world cup like it was a individual trophy.the shitty AFA its to blame for underachieving and the chaos that is going on right now .,its them who appoint the coaches and they seem to pick some odd ones over and over again,we don’t have a management with football vision, there is no winning mentality and we have had better teams than the current one and they disappointed, its so unfair considering Messi a curse when all he has done is just boosting n/t to three finals but he can not win alone,

  16. facts from these 2 past games
-banega needs to play to help Messi get touches
    – rojo was missed because he is our fastest defenseman and Neymar made us look old and slow… unfuckinbelievable we missed Rojo! Lol
    – funes mori is garbage ! GARAY!!!! Vamos
-sad to say but pratto starts up top
    – dimaria can’t shoot for shyt! He missed an easy goal then almost missed the sitter!! Angel should come off the bench in minute 65… he would make a difference running at tired defenders
-did I say we missed fuc#^^ Rojo already! Yes I’m still shocked but it’s a fact ..

    • I don’t see how Rojo could have done better against Cuadrado to be honest. Rojo was beaten by Juanpi of Venezuela, let alone by a world class player like Cuadrado. Bauza is very reluctant to drop players so the fact that he dropped Rojo speaks volumes about his current form. He is far from a regular starter at Manchester United as well. Rojo is not an answer, maybe Tagliafico is (or Soto at some point).

      • Rojo put Robben in his bag too in the semis, Arjen was maybe the fastest player of the world at that time. That Robben would kill all of our other LB’s.

        • That was in 2014. Rojo’s form has dipped quite a bit since then. If he is so good why doesn’t he start on a regular basis at MU? He rarely if ever starts, just like Romero. Besides, this is not only about speed, how does a defender deal with the opponents dribbling ability, trickery, how does the defender position himself vis-a-vis an opponent, etc

  17. Enough with the drama and play futbol. Fuck the press. They don’t respect the team. That’s fine. But the players respect the game. And that’s more important.

  18. Rulli(Romero)

    Mercado(roncag) — otamendi(masche)-garay(mori/musaccchio)- -tagli(Mas)

    (lamela/banega/paredes)-(pereyra/biglia/augusto)–(enzo/gaitan/maria)

  19. GOOD NEWS

still i dont want MASCHE-BIGLIA-BANEGA in midfield
    make ENZO play from start
    bench BIGLIA
    MASCHE in DEFENCE
we want speed in field….super speedy creative with experience

time for calling LANZINI,PAREDES,LAMELA,YACOB,PEREYRA,YACOB,VIETTO,CORREA,ACUNA,Kranevitter(he should be give time in bench in stead of DEMI/HIG/KUN etc) and others from Argentine club football too(any body u want)

LASTLY CALL ICARDI and play him with MESSI- DYBALA

    still think for changing COACH

YOU MAY NOT LIKE MY POST BUT ACCEPT IT

    ICARDI ICARDI

    leave HIG and KUN

  20. Fantastic win for Argentina. We needed this desperately to ensure our hope of qualification is back on track. I am not sure the negativity going on that we needed to lose this game to ensure Bauza will be sacked. I can give it to you in writing that nothing would have happened to Bauza if we had lost. If he had to move out , he had to resign. After that we will go through the process of having another coach who is out of touch with the current game and tactics. Anyway all I care at this point in time is to qualify for Russia. We need Messi there and that is our ray of hope.
Now coming on to the game some of the key points to note:
    – If Messi is not marked out of the game we have a chance. Brazil triple teamed him
    – Banega made the difference in this game because the field was spread out. In the Brazil game we played only on the right side of the field that was easy to mark. Though DiMari and Banega had a very average game, atleast they opened up some space for Messi as they operated on the left side of the field
    – Even an average right back like Mercado who participates in the attack albeit with limited contribution, opens up space for Messi.
    – Romero, Mas, Biglia and Funes Mori are subpar from talent perspective and also from their game sense. They have no business with the team
    – Pratto made up for his lack of skill with good effort

For me if we need to be competitive, the following needs to be done:

    – No Romero – Bring in Ruilli
    – Defense – No place for Funes Mori. Get Garay. Get young full backs. They cannot be worser than the current ones
    – Midfield – Get rid of DiMaria and Biglia. Try anyone new who is not a defensive midfielder. For me Perotti is in the form of his life. Any day I will play him, Vasquez and Lanzini in front of Mascherano. Everybody points on the issue regarding Mascherano. If he had the right folks playing in defense and midfield he will be in the top 5 mid fielders playing today. Under Bauza there has been no system. He had to cover an inefficient and slow defense in addition to protecting Biglia. There is no substitute for his experience.
    – Forwards – Icardi yes. But if the other 3 positions are not fixed, whoever we bring in will be ineffective

My line up ( Have a right to dream)

    4-4-2

    -Ruilli-
    Peruzzi – Otamendi – Garay – Taglifacio
    Mascherano Agusto Fernandez
    Vasquez Perotti
    Dybala Messi

    My Backup

    Cabellero
Mercado Mussachio Domestic Arg player Domestic Arg player
    Enzo Perez
    Banega Lanzini
    Correa Aguero Higuain/Icardi/Pratto

Coach : Doesnt make a difference. From 1994 every coach has reduced the team efficiency from 10 to 60%. With Pekerman at 10 to Maradona/Bauza at 60% by either selecting wrong players, playing without a system, playing players out of position at the very basic level. Expecting them to analyze opposition and adopting to the opposition is beyond their ability

YES MESSI WAS THE SAVIOUR and he has always been. Now I hear from the so called real Argentine fans like Gonzalo who questioned whether Messi can save Argentina, yes he does. By the way Columbia is no push over. They are ranked 5th in the world. Maybe they are looking at how can Messi be considered an Argentine and will he outdo Maradona. Don’t get me wrong, Maradona made me like football. But the supporting cast Maradona had has been ignored time and again by everyone. They were much better than what Messi has had in the last 5-6 years, from coach to the players.

Finally Stats speak for Messi – Played 5 won 4 and influenced all the games either by scoring or providing assists. Anyway it is a joke when i read people telling this is Messi’s team and he dictates what needs to be done without any substantiation. You need to get a maverick coach like Bielsa if you really want a team shake up. But then we know Bielsa’s drawbacks. I see very few coaches worldwide who shake up a successful team when they take it over. Pep is the only one that I can think of at club level. Also another comment is without Messi we are better. Which is utter rubbish.

Anyway let us enjoy the moment. Just another day in Argentine football wherein one man made the difference in an absolutely average team. Finally let us qualify and worry about how far we go in world cup when we get there. Have seen and gone through it since 1990.

    • “YES MESSI WAS THE SAVIOUR and he has always been”.

You are wrong. I’m not even questioning whether Messi can save Argentina because I know it’s impossible against stronger rivales and everyone saw that. It’s not about thoughts, its fact. He always been? What about finals of Copas, World Cup or game against Brazil? Don’t be ridiculous man.

“SO called fans”? As I said: to be of Messi fan does not makes you Argentina fan yet. What do you know about Argentina football? If Messi was not Argentinean more than a half of Mundo members colud not be here.

And we have seen nothing new. Messi’s fans are happy but it’s obvious the team is still the same and the Messi dependency comes to nothing. You have learned nothing on past events, Raj.

      • If you expect a player to carry the team against each and every team and game, then thats a joke, isn’t it.
Brazil was so worried about Messi and even after the game Marquinhos publicly said that they even had to apply double and triple level pressure on Messi to contain him. Any big team, playing an important match with a good coach, will do that on Messi. Ask Sampaoli or Tite.

But the question is what did the 9 other players do, for the team or to help Messi.
What did the coach do, when he could have easily anticipated that Messi would be caged in, to make a system to over come that or what did the coach ask the other 9 players to make use of such a space, which is definitely available, when Messi is caged?
Answer is nothing, absolutely nothing!. This is true even for the two copa finals. Messi tried to play for others, but they all did nothing, so he tried to do too much by himselves, and how can we fault him for that when the whole theatre is happening right in front of us. Opportunities did occur to others, did they take it?

YOu are talking about a player – who is definitely (I watch football since 1986, didnt had any tv in our village before that)the player who has faced the most parked buses (meant to contain him especially) in his career – who do not do enough on a few games here and there!!!But this is the same player who ensured that he carried his team to 3 consecutive finals. Unlike Maradona he dont have 9 other players behind him who scored 9 goals in 86WC. How many goals have Messi’s compatriots scored in ’10 and ’14 WCups combined??

Even now how many have they scored or helped the team score in the last 11 Argentina goals. Somebody had posted a stat here about Messi’s involvement in our recent goals. Thats scary for Argentina, as it clearly shows one man is carrying the team.

But I do agree with you Gonzalo, this is really not good for the team and it is not good for Messi too. He can have a bad day here and there and he will be always treated as the man to stop by every opposition, and he will receive all the blame.
The question is what will the coach do and how will the other 9 players help?

Am a fan of Maradona since ’82 when I started reading laurels after laurels about him in news papers. And then when I watched him in 86, I became absolutely crazy and became a fan of Albiceleste too. And its always going to be like that. Great players will bring in fans to a club or country, even from far and wide.

If you think only Argentinians should be commenting here, you should request Roy to block all others. what else can I say. Just because some one makes a comment here, may be in haste or for whatever, I cant judge if he is a real fan or not.

Sorry, its only my opinion. I always look for your comments here with some others.

        • Rajesh,

I think you understand my general idea. It’s not about Messi class (for me he is also best currently; and one of 3 best in history). It’s about what is finally good for a team. Messi dependency it’s just like palliative for some time. But problem is still there even if he is winning some games by himself. It’s like ‘similia similibus curantur’. We have problem with Messi dependecy so let’s try to cure this with more Messi dependency. It’s temporary measure. Palliative. It’s short-sighted.

But agree that we need points now. Anyways Bauza just slept through many occasions for good reform.

        • Totally agreed Rajesh. Messi shoud be the difference maker in the team. Meaning we mut create a team that is equal to everyone without Messi, but when Messi plays he will create the difference. That’s what Tite is doing with Brazil. Without Neymar they are formidable, but with him they are just different.

        • NAILED IT BRO… RAJESH… GREAT TO SEE GNAZALO TO AGREE THIS… MESSI FANS KNOW WE ARE NOT DEFENDING HIM ONLY … BECAUSE WE WANT MESSI TO BE CHAMPION.. AND SUPPORT CONTINUE FOREVER.. DYBALA…. WHY I LIKE MACH AUGURO ICARDI LANZINI… BECAUSE MESSI… SUPPORTING NOT GOING TO CHANCE MY WHOLE LIFE WHETHER WE ARE INDIA OR ANY OTHER COUNTRIES… PLZ UNDERSTAND GANZALO… I AM JUST LIKE YOU .. BECAUSE YOU ARE HONEST… SEE MY COMMENTS.. I NEVER SAID.. ARGENTINA ONLY WIN BECAUSE OF MESSI.. I DONT WANT THAT.. EVERYBODY IN THE WORLD KNOWS MESSI TEAM PLAYER… SO I WANT PROPER TEAM… FOR MESSI… BLAMING PLAYERS NOT THE SOLUTION… I STILL LIKE AUGURO… DIMARIA .. PASTORE ICARDI LANZINI PAREDAS.. I AM WATCHING ARG PLAYERS PLAYING MATCHES ONLY IN EVERY WEEK… WHY I WANT ARG TO BE A CHAMPION… I AM WAITING FOR YOUR REPLY… THAT MAKES ME HAPPY…

        • Yes, Gonzalo, deep inside we all want the same thing and we all think alike.
But the problem is the internet in some way. We are all sitting 1000’s of kms away and typing something, when we read something, may be in haste, may be without bothering to wait a little more to use a bit more wisdom on the comment etc. Reading them, we just assume another commenter is different or angry or stupid, without even seeing his expressions.
The truth is if we all were sitting face to face and discussing this, there would be more friendly banter. This is the problem of internet discussions.

      • I am not sure how long you have been following soccer and in that Argentine soccer. I started following Argentine football team in 1982 and became a die hard fan of Argentina from 1986. Any person who loves Argentine football will surely love MEssi. I have been posting in this forum since it started albeit during Argentina matches.I just noticed when Argentina loses you are just all over everyone claiming and belittling Messi. Every era of Argentine football has a star and there is nothing wrong of an Argentine fan to support the star. This does not mean that they dont support Argentine football. Once Messi goes there will be Dybala or somebody else and the real Argentine fan will support them. This non sense about Messi dependency is bringing Argentine football down is absolutely illogical and lacks knowledge of football. Any team that has a star player plays around that player. For me on contrary some of the great Argentine coaches have done the contrary. Put your jaundiced view off Messi and learn to be practical about Argentine football. Few points that will never happen :
        1. If Argentina does not qualify for world cup there will be an upheaval and clean up of AFA
        2. We will get a coach who is real. That is he will select the right players who are in form, play them in their correct position and adopt the right tactics
        3. Argentina club fanatics being straight and rational
        4. Argentine press being unbiased

I can keep adding to this. My hope today is we have once in a generation player and that is our golden chance for winning a tournament. He got us so close in 3 of them. I have mentioned this before and I repeat it, the talent in Argentine football since 1990’s has been very limited in defense. Maradona succeeded on the back of one of the most rugged defense. PLayer selection and injuries have been a bane of Argentine football. Finally the coaches have been average and out of sync with the need. Even Pekerman who for me has been the closest to a coach whose philosophy of football suits Argentina football talent, left out Zanetti. I do not want to get into a personal war of words with you. I have gone through the extreme hardships that fans supporting Argentine football have gone through from 1990. Just that age makes one realize that football is unfair and luck does play a major factor. The 2002 Brazil win and as of late the 2016 Portugal win. I supported Argentina in 1990 and they played the ugliest football ever and luck was with us till final, we just used too much of it. In 2002 we were the team any football nation feared. But Bielsa being who he is ensured we dint get out of the group stage.

Anyway just a small advice,in soccer learn to rejoice when you get a chance. Even I understand today’s win was not a master class. If Messi was not there today we would have lost or drawn. There is no imagination and to be honest for me 50% of team is not talented. But that is with every damn football team. The only team today that looks moving in the positive direction is Brazil. But believe me when they come and play in Argentina the result will be different. That is the way the equation has always been.

Think practical and appreciate talent. Believe me I am a soccer buff who has blown money to get videos of every damn match Maradona played even for Napoli. I have seen every match that Pele played in World cup. I can tell you I havent seen a player as complete as Messi. I thought when Maradone retired there could be no player that could be at 50% of his level. Messi came and that changed. For me the player who can overtake Messi needs to play like him and have 2 characteristics, great in air and use his right foot as well as the left. Maybe we are talking about a perfect soccer robot.

        Anyway I leave it here.

      • But neither Maradona could do that against A-category teams. Against Italy (82, 86,90) against Germany (86,90), never against Uruguay, never against Brazil (82 one of his most painful games ever) and so on. Our biggest luck we don’t meet in 86 against France and Brazil, the two best teams at that times. I have a hard feeling even Italy would have been killed us like in 82.

  21. Not much to say about the game while that was old well known scenario. Messi saved all team. We know the things very well. And we know it will never works against stronger teams.

I fact, there are even some negatives of the situation. After this win Bauza will keep few poor players of the team still with Di Maria at the head.

Positives? Pratto. He proved that good team is unnecessary team of most famous players. Scanty number of minutes in NT as far but 2 goals. He is ugly duckling here but hardworking duckling. Far more usefull than each of fantastic 3 (Higuain, Aguero, Di Maria).

The team could be better also with Enzo and Lavezzi.
As far it’s still the same team. I think if they play against Brazil today it could be another 0:3.

    • There is yet another positive Gonzalo. In the ’14qualifications, it was a win against Colombia, which brought the team back to a spirit again. This game too, coming back after a big defeat and lot of criticism, might induce some spirit and confidence to the players, unless they rewatch the match and finds out it was Messi who saved them!!

  22. What The Fuck is going on here? So much negativity!! ☹ No one talking about Bozo’s brave decision playing Prato instead of europian superstars Higu and Aguero? Yes- I said brave cause Argentine media defending this two since 2014 and even some media like to Tevez back in the team? Everyone know changes needed badly and it’s coming surely. This matches are not friendly and it’s final for every game. Not the time of experiment in. And changes overnight. Did our last best coach Sabella do that? No. This team is dated out and expired yes but they have some chemistry still now- with the intensity they played last night – they can provide performance like this. I believe it’s one and half years still we’ve in hand, hope we can find something we can fight with. If it’s with “Mr. Talk” no one will mind.

    • I do not agree with you either! Answer me a couple of questions please

      1. How long did Tite take to transform his team?
      2. Exactly when does Bauza expect to get an extended time to do at his own pace?

      • Bauza should drop Higuain, Aguero right after Copa. Before his first game yet. The player wasted too much chances.

  23. Most important 3 points, just gold wrapped by a genius, who for many Argentinian people and fans across the world is the reason for everything bad about the NT!!!
Remove Messi, and that was a pathetic performance friends. Only 2 others gave some comfort – Prato is moving well and trying to hold the ball, a bit like Suarez. De Maria, bad he was, but definitely it looked like he got some peace of mind from some one in the squad. While he was his usual self with decision making, but there were few moments when he at least ‘thought’ about passing, not that it worked. anyways. He is a huge talent and if he can show some brain, he is a huge asset.
For the rest, I dont think they deserve to play the WC, may be except Enzo who with more chances might gel well. Masche should play as a CB a la Barca.
Banega is a comedy if he is not at his v.best form!!!
People simply described 86 victory as a single man show (while that was a strong team with 9 goals scored by players other than Deigo). We are really looking at a one man show now.. And that player keeps getting all the blame. May it be player selection or team performance..
It is nice to know that even in this website, there are some contributors who seems to know everything what happens in the dressing room and team meetings (all is Messi’s fault)!!!

  24. i wonder why bauza didn’t even run to princess maria like somewhat a fat dumbest clown when he scored the 3rd stunning goal just like tite did for brazil when they got the 3rd…

  25. THE COACH SAFE AND AGAIN CALL THE FREEKING OLD BIGLIA DIMECHELIS MORI ROMERO ZABA LEVEZZI DIMARIA…. NO ONE HELPING MESSI… IM SURE MESSI WILL NOT WON THE WORLD CUP WITH THIS COACH.. IF CANT MAKE ANY CHANGES TO THE STARTING LINE UP… NO ENERGY NO PACE NO MIDFIELD… IM SURE IF WE QUALIFY 2018 ROUND OF 16 ELIMINATION SURE… I DONT WANT TO SEE THAT AGAIN AND AGAIN… IF ARG NOT USING MESSI THEN THEY WILL NEVER BE A CHAMPION AGAIN… WITH THESE GROUP WITH ALL TIME BEST PLAYER … IT WILL HURT ME IF WE WON TODAY NOTHING MAKES ME HAPPY UNTILL I SEE THE ENERGY YOUNG AND EXPERIENCE… AND BETTER TEAM WITH MESSI… IF BAUZA REMAINS…(HE WILL KEEP HIS KEEP SON BIGLIA AND DIMARIA MORI ROMERO NEVER MAKE CUT IN STARTING LINE UP) THEN WORLD JOURNALIST WAITING TO WRITE MESSI NOT GOOD WITH NATIONAL TEAM ONLY BARCA…. AND SOME DAMN PEOPLE JOINS… HE WILL CALL ICARDI BUT HE WILL NEVER PUT IN THE STARTING LINE UP LIKE PIZZARO RULLI BUFFARANI ACUNA C0RREA… WE WILL WIN AGAINST CHILLE BECAUSE NO VIDAL HE SUSPENDED… AND HE WILL SPEAK TO THE PRESS ARGENTINA WILL WIN THE 2018 WC BUT ROUND OF 16 EXIT IS SURE..

  26. HOW MANY PEOPLE IN ARGENTINA ARE HAPPY.. 3-0 GREAT WIN AND SAVES BAUZA JOB … IT IS THE FIRST TIME I HATED MESSI SHOW.. BECAUSE ANY ONE SAW THE MATCH KNOWS WHAT HAPPEN.. ANY OF FEW PASS IN THE FINAL THIRD.. MESSI DID ALONE FREE KICK.. IF WE CANT SCORE A FIRST GOAL THING WOULD BE DIFFERENT.. AND AGAIN CHIP PARATTO HEADER… AND THIRD ONE HE CREATED.. AND PEREZ MISSED AND AGAIN HE WON BACK AND PASS TO A TAP.. DIMARIA THINGS HE SCORED A GOAL… (HEADLESS CHICKEN) .. AND PASSING MARCADO OTAMENDI MACH BIGLIA MORI(WHAT A DEFENDER HE DEFENDS WITH HIS HAND AND PUT WHOLE BODY IN TO THE GROUND TO STOP A BALL) ALL PASSING SIMPLY AND GIVE TO DIMARIA HE RUNS TOWARDS PEOPLE AND LOOSE THE BALL… AND LONG PASS FROM BIGLIA AND MACH AND MORI OR OTAMENDI THIS IS THE TACTICS.. EVEN ELCHE PLAYING BETTER THEN ARGENTINA… I WAS REALLY HURT TO SEE THIS KIND OF FOOTBALL FROM AFGENTINA.. I WAS VERY SAD.. WHEN ARG LOST THREE CONSECTIVE FINAL.. I AM THINKING ABOUT THAT… AND LOST MANY DAYS IN MY LIFE… I KNOW MY HAPPIEST DAY IN MY LIFE WILL BE…(MESSI LIFT THE TROPHY FOR THE NATIONAL TEAM).. MY HEART BROKEN IN LAST THREE FINAL… BUT I BELEIVE THIS TEAM DEFEINATLY CAPABLE OF BRING THE TROPHY… I AM EAGERLY WAITING FOR 2018 WHEN WE LOST 2016 COPA FINAL… BUT BAUZA.. COME IN HE ( I DONT KNOW WHO IS AT THE TIME I AM EXPECTING SIMMONE OR SAMPOLLI OR POCHETINO BECAUSE MESSI PRIME IS OVER AFTER 2018) TAKES HE SPOKE ABOUT MESSI IN THREE FINALS MESSI HAS BEEN ISOLATED…(YA WHEN I HEARD THAT I AM VERY HAPPY FINALLLY THE COACH FOUND IT..) BUT THINGS ARE DIFFERNT FROM THERE.. BECAUSE MARTINO LOOKS BETTER… I BADLY WANTED ARG LOOSE TODAY AND BAUZA GET SACKED.. BECAUSE I DONT WANT ANOTHER HEART BREAK IN 2018 ROUND OF 16… BECAUSE I KNOW MESSI CAN PERFORM 4 OUT 5 MATCHES… ONE MATCH WILL BE EITHER FINAL OR ROUND OF 16.. IF NO PLAN AND NO TACTICS MEANS… THIS COACH DARE HIS CARRER TO BECOME THE GREATEST PLAYER IN THE HISTORY.. WE WON 3-0 WITH OUT TEAM PLAY… IF THIS AGAIN HAPPEN … SAME FREEKIN BIGLIA AND MACHE EVEN(BENCH MUSSACHIO DIDNT MAKE IT) SUB BENCH FOR DEMICHELIS…” I WILL RIP THE BAUZA DAMN HEAD… AND FEED INTO HAND OF AFA PRESIDENT”…. I AM FREUSTRATED EVER THEN BEFORE…….

  27. LOSING SUCKS……….and we all needed this win, BADLY.

I just hope all the players get their heads out of their asses from now on and get back on the winning train.

The night would have been perfect with a Chile and Brazil defeats but it wasn’t to be.

Dybala and Messi….on the damn pitch TOGETHER at the same time is what I want to see and maybe just MAYBE we’ll see Icardi along their side and put this discussion to bed forever.

BTW, the players look like school kids in the picture above, reminds me of the time when I was a kid in school, getting a tongue-lashing from our teacher because we all failed on the test and we have nothing to say.

  28. Terrible, amateur level tabloid stuff from the press.

I am glad that Messi spoke up on behalf of all the players. At least they feel united and show the solidarity required. Unfortunately, the press will continue to hound them even more now to get their quota of clicks and buys. Opens doors to a lot of unnecessary criticism.

Don’t teams have a Press Rep? Why can’t AFA or the Manager stand up and say this? Does Messi have to practically do everything ?

  29. Does this statement reflect the collective feeling of the team? or is it just that messi is projecting his opinion as the collective opinion of the team? or is it that the whole team is just one lobby with a few exceptions?
If messi (and lavezzi also) are sure that lavezzi is innocent, then they can come up with a (collective) statement. They can also take legal action against the press reporter who made this allegation. No one can avoid or disregard the press like this.
I dont know the severity of the allegations but even if the allegations are wrong, this is not the right way to react.
Icardi has been ignored by d NT coaches due to something happened in his (and maxi lopezs) personal life, then where was messi (who has been punished for tax fraud!)?
If this is an instance of extending moral support to someone demoralized due to false allegations, it can be understood/ justified but in the background of growing skepticism of a “messi and his friends” lobby, this move will be read differently.

Moreover when the fans and media are anxious about argentina qualifying the wc 2018, how can they turn their backs to the questions related to the performance of the team?

  30. Argentine national team defeated Columbia through Messi magic.

Does it mean that we must tolerate Bauza and his amateur players until 2018?

Does anyone think Lavezzi must be included in Argentina squad for the 2018 World Cup? Who cares if Lavezzi smokes pot?

If Argentine media and press spend valuable time by talking about Messi’s tattoo and a useless player like Lavezzi, it means we have to watch the slow and lazy players again and again.

Why is Argentine media and press always silly? They can criticize useless players for many things because they are very bad in the match and on the pitch! Don’t need to bother with useless player’s private life.

  31. Critizing is somewhat acceptable but bashing constantly to a team with 3 consecutive final is more than harsh! Afterall, they are also human. I can feel how sad they would be.

  32. Argentina’s last 11 goals and guess what…..
    Messi assist
    Messi goal
    Messi goal
    Messi assist

    Messi goal
    Messi assist
    Messi assist
    Messi goal

    Messi assist

  33. Even the argentine media can’t speak against the Masch-messi cartel!!!!!!Damn!!!!!1

Bauza should have dropped dimaria and played Correa/Perez… that would have been a big statement for all these men running the mafia… if bauza can’t trust higuain and aguero to save his job and plays pratto instead why should anyone beleive that aguero/higuian can get us the world cup… they along side dimria.. romero… funes mori… banega… biglia… Mas.. Zabaleta.. should gone for good.. not even on the bench or else they will infest the new players… their disease is contagios!!!

    • I know Sulav what you are talking about and as much as I like Messi, I believe the only reason you wear the NT team jersey should be on merit and not because they are so called friends.

I was disappointed from 98 up till now as we never won a major trophy and more so with Messi as he is clearly the best player of this generation. But now I feel he clearly deserves this fate as he choose his friends over an international trophy.
