  1. Brazil has hosted Copa four times in the past and won 100%. The massive expectations on Argentina’s shoulders should be somewhat lighter this time, which may be a blessing.

  2. Copa America 2019 winner is between Brazil vs Argentina, easiest tournament ever for Argentina participating this summer, Brazil isn’t a huge either as they struggled against Argentina B. With a solid defense plus messi magic plus icardi in front of goals winning copa America should be Cackwalk for Argentina.

  3. Chances of winning the copa is slim. Hope we have a good tournament atleast till semi final. If brazil gets eliminated by some other team in early stages then there is a chance.
Argentina is in a huge crisis of fullbacks, if tagliafico starts it will cost us still not confident on saravia.
The only reliable goalkeeper argentina has is romero, hope rulli avoids mistakes and play regularly for real sociedad.

    • Why there is so much hype about Brazil..???
I think it will be difficult for us to win but we still are one of the fav to win copa alongside Brazil nd Uruguay..
Furthermore Uruguay midfield is full of talent but they dont look in sync and Brazil is full of overrated stars specially neymar coutinho they take too much time on the ball and that can be risky in must win encounters

      • Have you seen the last two Copa’s?
Chile should not be underestimated either. They’ve got one heck of a team.

If Argentina were to reach the Semi’s, it’ll most likely be
        – Argentina
        – Brazil
        – Chile
        – Uruguay

If that’s the case, let Brazil play Chile, and we’ll take Uruguay.
Let the strongest teams take each other out, and we’ll beat the Uruguayan bus like we usually do to reach the final.

        Vamos Argentina!

  4. Copa XI should be Rulli – marcado Otamendi Pazella Tagliafico – lo celso paredes lanzini/benega – Messi icardi/Aguero Dybala/Dimaria

  5. The only goalkeeper we can trust is Romero. Walter Benitez is risky due to experience but he is the next best goalkeeper we have. Rulli/Gazzaniga should be last resort. All other goalkeepers should be kept away, as they are not starters.

  6. while most people are eager for Messi to return, Juan Sebastian Veron is adamant that Argentina need to stop relying on the Rosario native so much, particularly as he moves into the autumn of his career.

“It’s time to build a group,” the former Manchester United and Lazio midfielder told ESPN Argentina. “Obviously, if Leo is eager [to be part of the national team], they would need to involve him little by little.

“I think we have to prepare the base and once and for all think about a team and not think about someone who can save us.

  7. Honestly, we couldn’t have been gifted a better group.
We HAVE to finish first! The other groups, specifically group C are really strong.
We need to finish first to get the easier tie to advance further.

We need to return to our winning mentality.
Meaning, that anything less than the Finals should be looked on as a failure.
Brazil are seeing it that way, so are Uruguay, why shouldn’t we? We have been in the last two finals, we should be in it again! No excuse!
The only problem is, the final has space for two teams only, and Brazil are guaranteed finalists at their home turf. That leaves us and Uruguay, but you can’t forget Chile either.

If Messi and Aguero start upfront, along with the strongest defense we’ve got of Saravia, Otamendi, Pezzella, and Tagliafico at the back, then we have a good chance of going al, the way. With a stable defense, that will give Messi more license to roam wherever on the pitch to find space and exploit it. Aguero also will drop into the midfield to support buildup play as he’s doing with Man City, giving our midfield EVEN more options.

When the friendly against Venezuela comes and Messi with hopefully Aguero are added into the mix, then we can get an idea of how this team will look.

Personally, I am not too convinced with Tagliafico, but it’s too late to introduce a new LB into the mix, with only a few friendliest left before the summer.

With that in mind, my line up:
    Romero
    Saravia-Pezzella-Otamendi-Tagliafico
    Banega-Paredes-Lo Celso
Messi-Aguero-Martinez (Anyone other than Di Maria)

This tournament is not a time to think about the WC or the future, it should be about winning the Copa!
In the WC qualifiers, THEN we can begin the process.
But for now, winning the trophy MUST BE THE PRIORITY!

    Vamos Argentina! Te Amo!!!

  10. Last night Barcelona was gonnaa raped by Ever Banega.in current form,i thing he is the number one central midfielder in Argentina.but mundo people says that he is inconsistent. hahaha can u guys tell me the name of those players ,who was consistent in last 6 yrs except messi n romero? i m not a big fan of Banega.but he is in form right now.we need him in copa.

    • Banega is the finest, not just for Argentina but for the whole world. He plays in the most competitive league and is by far the best for Argentina team after Messi in terms of talent and skills.

      • Oh my gosh… give me a f*cking break. STOP trying to incorporate oldies. No hate but it is time to MOVE ON. If he is that good, why is he not in a better club? Sevilla are ass! Also, he is in bad form now, he pretty wuiet during gamez.

        • Bro arsenal and emery is dying to have him but rejected the offer , he is well settled in sevilla and he is playing in the best league in the world. Not in some farmer league like superliga and russian premire league.

        • Oldies? Which World do you live in? And who gets old when he is 30 years old. Banega is just 30 years old. And Sevilla are ass?? Do you even watch La Liga? It is the best league in the world and only three teams are better than them, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. Sometimes, just watch Banega play and stop talking stupidity.

    • Banega’s been playing in europe for about 10 years now and out of those 10 long years he’s only played consistently for 3 seasons, hence when we call him inconsistent is because he has for most of his european career been inconsistent!
The good news is that he’s found consistency with sevilla since last season and as of right now I’m not opposed to having him on the bench at copa should paredes get injured or fail to perform. With being said he was terrible against Real last week, the same Real that Celso destroyed just the week before yet you’ll still find people here who think Celso is only subpar.

      • Paredes over Banega? Paredes is playing Russian League, a league that is far below eredivise and the levels of even primeira liga (portuguese). He can’t adapt to good pressing game of Chile, Peru or Brazil. He will be the one to lose the most ball.
