Lionel Messi scores, assists for Barcelona in win vs. Mallorca

Lionel Messi had a goal and two assists for Barcelona in their 4-0 win vs. Mallorca.

Messi continued where he left off for Barcelona before the league break. With Barcelona leading 1-0, Messi assisted Martin Braithwaite on his first Barcelona goal through an assist with his head. He would head the ball towards Braithwaite who would fire it in from close range.

The Argentina captain would also assist the third goal. A lovely pass in to Jordi Alba as the left back would score the third.

Barcelona’s savior would score one of his own. Messi would run across the Mallorca penalty area and would shoot with his right foot into the roof of the net for his goal.

    When bringing up “competitive vs friendly” statistics lets keep in mind that 61 of Ronaldo’s “competitive” goals have come in Euro/WC qualifying. These fixtures feature round robin games with 5-6 team groups against 3+ minnow countries.

    This will most likely make Ronaldo fans quick to point out that the other 6 teams in the top 10 reside in Europe. That is factual yet he never will have to face any of those teams in WCQ with the mass amount of European countries. Thus deflating the overall top talent.

    Another hot topic that is far outplayed by Ronaldo fans is Messi’s missed PK in the 2016 Copa America Final shootout. Nobody ever brings up that he did converted his PK in the 2014 World Cup Semifinal shootout vs Netherlands en route to a World Cup Final berth.

    On the other hand Ronaldo did not even take his PK vs Spain in the 2012 Euro shootout which I’d argue is worse than Messi’s miss. With a chance to beat a historic Spanish team Ronaldo “demanded” to take the 5th PK. He wanted to play hero as per usual and never even got a chance.

    reports suggest palacios is rested due to illness its not covid though and ascacibar seems to be injured i guess
    on a brighter side alario is featuring more and scoring like he often doess. hope alario leaves bayer for a club who value him more he deserves to be a starter.

      Regarding Lautaro, I’m sure that Barcelona have decided for him regardless of his performances now. His head is already in Barcelona. If anything, I think Inter will be more willing to let him go and Barcelona still know how big potential he possesses

One thing I like abt the players is their long hair, but it seems, they have lost their identity and are following the European style but cutting their hair.     Infact the Covid was a blessing in disguise for players like him. He looks fresh and well rested. Little bit rust will be there. But overall looks gud.
