Aguero will not be renewing with Manchester City as both club and player made the announcement last month. The Argentine has been linked with several clubs but there appears to be one frontrunner. Per a report by TyC Sports, the 32 year old is very close to joining the Catalan giants.

A legend at Manchester City, per the report by TyC, there have been intense negotiations between both parties the past few days. Having previously played in Spain with Atletico Madrid at the start of his European club career, Aguero might finally be united with good friend Lionel Messi at club level, should Messi remain at Barcelona.

  2. Barca is trying hardly to keep Messi and knows Messi will be comfortable among friends, so bring Messi friends along into Barca so he will stay; however it is not a bad decision as the team desperately need a lethal striker. not as long term project and solution. Only injury prone does matter.

Financial issue is the main headache of every club;to bring the new potential players like Lautaro or Mbappe and Earling Haland; other topic, i do hope the idea of Europe Super league will not happened

  3. I guess that if not the only one, i may be one of the very few in here who does not get that excited with Aguero’s potential move to Barcelona. Don’t get me wrong, i like Aguero a lot, i always did, he is a legend and if you ask me Manchester City should have shown some appreciation and respect to the best player to have ever played for them and one of the best players in premier league history instead of selling him to another club due to his age.

However, what i am trying to say is that if that move would be occured two or even one year ago, i would have been excited because our team would have been benefit by potential partnership between Messi and Aguero and been able to use this advantage for the upcoming copa america. But the move will occur after the copa america and we like it or not, and taking also into consideration, apart from Aguero’s age, the fact that he is very proned to injuries, he is definately not a long term solution.

Most likely, he won’t be fit for the upcomimg wc therefore, for the aforementioned reasons his potential move doesn’t really matter for our team.

Off course, i would like having him in the team, but not as the main target man but as a sub or at least use him as long as his fitness can stand. I think that we have to build for the future with the youngsters we already have such as Lautaro.

    • Agree waveride, Aguero is way past his prime. He still us a great striker but injuries, lack of fitness and weight issues set him back. Given Barca’s financial issues Lautaro will not join them. Aguero is a free agent but with huge, unrealistic salary demands. Hope he joins Independiente.

while i don t care what happening in Europe and UEFA s chaos i can tell you this.
if the rich clubs of Europe succed do this Europe superleague the result in long term will be terrible for football itself. take a look what happened to Basketball and the Euroleague.
the sport arrive to bottom. they destroy the national leagues and in time even the famous rich Euroleague lost the popularity because it became boring for people.
so i think it will be same in this case too. if Europe superleague take place true then in first years will have huge success financialy because it will be something new and interesting BUT after some years it will be huge damage to football sport.

  5. Logical move for all sides. An in-form Aguero and a partnership with Messi would be deadly, but it does raise the question of Lautaro… Hope to see Licha make the move too. They need a striker and better defenders

  6. Stating obvious things here: if this move does happen and if Kun regains form, if Messi stays and if they form a great partnership then this could be amazing for the NT. The only problem is that Lautaro may find himself on the bench, unless Scaloni decides to use both Kun and Lautaro as he had done before in a 4-3-1-2 formation.

    • 4312 is too narrow formation for this to implement well needs explosive Full Backs which Argentina lacks. 433 is the best.Lautato is the best CF for that role. Either Aguero should play in left wing as he played vs Uruguay.

      • If your idea of a fullback is Foyth, then yes we do not have explosive fullbacks. On the other hand with Montiel, Tagliafico, Acuña, Angileri, Molina there is enough engine power in them to bomb up and down the flanks.

“In today’s football, the full-backs are fundamental. It depends on the potentiality in attack if you use them or not. Ours [Montiel and Angileri] are very important in our idea. We have a constant search, and I like that they have projection”. This is how clear and concise Marcelo Gallardo expressed himself recently ago at a press conference.

        • Montiel,Tagliafico,Molina are not explosive fullbacks. TAA, Robertson, Hakim , L. Hernandez are explosive fullbacks. I saw Qualifiers and there was nothing explosive from Montiel in those four matches but I saw leaking goals from his side and Foyth at least provides defensive stability. Tagliafico is not good going forward.Angilleri can be tried.

    • if Aguero go to Barcelona or not is irrelevant for national team. Aguero in form will play despite in which club he will be.

      • Yes, Cox, for sure but the partnership with Messi with an inform Aguero will make it a guarantee. There were times when Lautaro was preferred to even in form Kun if I remember correctly.
