Emiliano Buendía of Aston Villa is in isolation and will miss Argentina’s World Cup qualifiying match.
Buendía will not travel with the Argentina national team to Chile for their World Cup qualifier. While he did not test positive, Buendía was in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID and is in isolation.
Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni stated during his press conference on Wednesday that he himself has tested positive for COVID despite recovering. He also mentioned that Alexis Mac Allister of Brighton has tested positive and will not travel.

Chile will be like a hungry lion. They will attack us from the start, which is good for us to counter attack them. They are 6th now in the group. They badly need points.
Di Maria will be the captain. Samuel-Ayala and Placente will be in charge. De Paul is fine. Angel Correa is fine. No one else gets covid except Scaloni, Aimar, MacAllister, and Buendia.
We are not weakened at all. The only missing pieces are Messi and Cuti Romero. Other than that, all the starters and regular back ups are entirely available.
5 subs are allowed. We have Angel Correa, Nico Gonzales, Papu Gomez, Julian Alvarez, and Montiel/Tagliafico on the bench. They are the main back ups. Also Ocampos is there too.

Travelling from Europe to South America takes forever man. The match itself is about 12 hours from now. Think about it.
Even Scaloni and Aimar will not join N/T due to Covid isolation. Walter Samuel will lead the team. The team will depend on Dybala, RDP, ADM, Lo Celso, Otamendi, Licha, Emi and Lautoro. Doubt about Angel Correa will get the chance. Julian will be another option.
Bad luck Buendia for now. He will get his chance another day. But potentially Dybala’s best chance ever to cement a spot in NT. If he dosent shine in these 2 games , i really doubt he will make it to World Cup final squad with the competition we have in the attacking zone.
Other positive is Licha finally getting some solid minutes & this can potentially seal the 3rd CB conversation.
Btw is Angel Correa playing? Initially heard he also had an injury – but he came in as a sub in Atleti last match.
