Fausto Vera could be joining Corinthians.

Celtic and Genk target Fausto Verga can soon be crossing the border and playing in Brazil. Per César Luis Merlo, Argentinos Juniors president Cristian Malaspina will be travelling to Brazil on Friday to negotiate the sell.

Vera has also been linked with a move to Celtic and Genk but a move to Brazil would have him join the ever growing list of Argentine players in that league. He would however be the only Argentine with Corinthians.

Still only 22 years old, the midfielder has spent his entire career with Argentinos Juniors. He has represented the Argentina national team at youth level, most notable last year at the Olympics.

  1. one of the best player in argentina this season and he is a captain material if he stays in argentina for one more season better clubs will come knocking.

  2. After some inactivity from injuries and falling out of the radar he’s come back and is now the best 5 in the Argentinian league, and with Enzo and Julian out is one of the most ready to make a jump to Europe. You can see it when he plays that he’s fairly developed and if he chooses an aspiring mid table club in Europe he would probably be a starter. Hope he doesn’t go to Corinthians because he’s ready for more.

Moving to Brazil is really good for a South American career but for a national team future choosing the right club in Europe is the best bet by far

  3. jose Lopez to Palmeiras.
    Guiliano Galoppo to Sao Paolo
    and now Vera to Corinthians.
Better than moving to MLS or mediocre European club.

    • While I agree that is better than moving to MLS, in Europe, even in a mediocre club there is a bit more exposure. Depends on where in Europe too of course, you don’t want to end up in a Russian, Greek, Turkish, Belgian league, etc. But playing for, let’s say Getafe, Valencia, Marseille, Lyon, PSV, West Ham might be good for a player. Those are arguably mediocre clubs too but a player visibility is much better there.
