Nicolás Otamendi scored for Benfica in their 3-0 win vs. Dynamo Kyiv.

Otamendi scored his first goal of the season. With Benfica leading 2-0 after the first match, it was a cross into the penalty area and Otamendi scored the header to give Benfica the 1-0 lead.

With the win, Benfica are now in the Champions League.

  1. Olé had a nice one-on-one article on all NT players. They reviewed everyone’s performance and expressed a few worries.

    The midfield area is of course worrying with the fate of Parades is still hanging in the balance (unwanted by PSG coach, not signed yet by Juve) and DePaul and Palacios not being starters. Luckily LoCelso is back with Villarreal and Guido a rock in Betis.

    The backups to our strikers lack playing time as well. Alvarez is a sub for Haaland, Alario switched teams but again ended up on the bench behind Borré.

    • Palacios starter in 2 games only the last game he came as a sub. Bayer Leverkusen is the opposite of Brighton. The team did bad losing 3 games in a row. But Palacios did just fine there.

      Only Paredes and De Paul not starting among our key midfielders. Paredes because he is not among the plan of the PSG coach. De Paul because the coach is a fake Argentine.

  2. Enzo is vital looks like depaul is out of form and i don’t trust lo celso so we need a great midfielder for their backup. I hope palacios or Dominguez or McAllister also improve their level so if our first choice midfielders r injured thn they can help us win the cup

    • lo celso is best midfielder we have after messi,dybala interms of creativity protection.. and you think he is no good enzo gives a lot of energy physical appearance something different but he is not yet on the level of locelso effectiveness on creativity. when loceso play messi has more space to think.. dybala don’t occupy on locelso position,

    • I don’t understand with this knee jerk reaction. Enzo at best will be among sub and also give him time. He will play an important role post this World Cup, I don’t think we should tinker with the squad unless some player in starting 11 magically regressed in last few months.

  3. 2 seasons ago Who was that young defender with barcalona who we all spoke highly and waited to get a chance? What was his name? Is he still with barcalona youth or moved on?

  4. FC Porto to make one last effort to sign Alcaraz from Racing. Their second choice is Zaracho though Miniero won’t sell him for less 20 mil.
    FC is managed by Conceicao, a great midfielder himself. They are looking for a b2b midfielder to replace Vitinha, who moved to PSG.

  5. Very happy with all the choices we have, specially in defense. It’s inevitable in every World Cup some players arrive out of form, some get injured and stress gets into some, having options helps make the necessary changes.

    Defense wins world cups.

      • 2018 was a weird tournament. France won because everybody else shot themselves in the foot: Argentina and Germany arrived unprepared, Spain destroyed their team just before kick off, Brazil lost in a strange fashion to an inferior Belgium.
        Croatia and England were nowhere near the top 4 of previous tournaments.

        I believe 2018 France was the worst champion in the history of the tournament.
