Exequiel Palacios is out for Bayer Leverkusen with a left thigh injury.

Palacios will not be part of the Bayer Leverkusen team for their Champions League game vs. Atletico Madrid on Tuesday. The club announced that he will miss the next few games for them and will not play vs. Atletico Madrid.

The 23 year old was substituted out for Leverkusen vs. Hertha in their last league game. Argentina play two games in September, the first on September 23 vs. Honduras and the second on September 27 vs. Jamaica.

  1. His injury record has not been great even in the best of times, let alone now when teams play more often because of the upcoming WC. I would be pleasantly surprised if he makes it to the final squad healthy. Mac Allister and Enzo chances are trending up now, heck I would not even discount Nico Dominguez if Palacios is not available in the end.

    • I am not super impressed with what he brings to the table too. Decent player, a back up to play last 10-15 mins. Does a little bit of everything. Not a profile I will lose my sleep on. Its not that we will win the world cup because of him, or we will lose the world cup because he was not there.

        • Really? What’s wrong with Palacios? Have you seen him play? Of course I would choose a Lo Celso-Paredes-De Paul midfield every day of the year but it’s not like Palacios is some type of Meza or Salvio type. I mean big trouble seriously? You’re probably thinking of the wrong guy
