The Argentina U17 team started their Sudamericano with a 4-2 win vs. Venezuela.

Diego Placente and his Argentina U17 team started the tournament with three points as they will try to qualify for the U17 World Cup. Argentina have been drawn with Bolivia, Paraguay, Peru and Venezuela.

Placente named the following starting eleven for the match:

Froilán Díaz
Ulises Giménez
Juan Gimenez
Juan Villalba
Axel Cabellos
Gustavo Albarracin
Camilo Rey
Claudio Echeverri
Ian Subiabre
Agustín Ruberto
Santiago López

It was a great run across the penalty area by Ulises Giménez who found Claudio Echeverri and he would score from the edge of the penalty area to give Argentina the 1-0 lead. Argentina’s second goal was a show of unselfeshness.

A counter attack by Agustín Ruberto, Santiago López and Echeverri as Ruberto passed it to López, he would pass it to Echeverri who would beat the goalkeeper and pass it back to López who would score.

At 2-1, Juan Giménez would give away a penalty and Venezuela would score their first goal of the match. Venezuela would draw level. But Argentina would get one more before the end of the first half.

Claudio Echeverri with a nice movement around the penalty area and he would find Agustín Ruberto with a finish to give Argentina the 3-2 lead. More unselfish play by Argentina’s attackers would lead to another goal.

Once more it was Echeverri to Agustín Ruberto and he would score to make it 4-2 for Placente’s team. Argentina lead Group B with their next match against Bolivia on Sunday.
