Europa League final: An Argentine guaranteed to win, Paulo Dybala fitness issue

The Europa League final takes place on Wednesday and at least one Argentine player is guaranteed to win it and Paulo Dybala has fitness issues.

Europa League serial winners Sevilla have five Argentine players in the squad and they play the final against Paulo Dybala’s AS Roma. One player who will not be able to play in the final is Marcos Acuña as he is suspended.

Of the total six Argentine players between both teams, four of them won the World Cup with the Argentina national team and three of them played in the final. Here are the Argentine players involved:

Sevilla: Gonzalo Montiel, Lucas Ocampos, Erik Lamela, Marcos Acuña (suspended) and Papu Gómez

AS Roma: Paulo Dybala

Marcos Acuña, Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Montiel all played in the World Cup final. Paulo Dybala took the second penalty for Argentina in the penalty shootout and Gonzalo Montiel of course famously scored the penalty which won Argentina the World Cup.

Paulo Dybala is struggling with fitness issues and AS Roma coach José Mourinho has spoken about Dybala. In regards to the final, here is what Mourinho said on Tuesday:

“Dybala tomorrow in the final? He will give us 20 or 30 minutes”.
