  1. 3-1 victory, but Japan outplayed them almost the whole game. The scoreline was flattering for us. Players are clearly still immature at this level. Everyone thinks they’re Di Maria once they’re on the ball.

    • Yea, seems very weak physically and lack cohesiveness in midfield plus very poor finishing even with only goalkeeper to beat. I dont see them beating teams like Nigeria or Brazil. Then again, Argentina always looks like this at u17 level.

  2. Seeing them train giving me goosebumps knowing very well the importance of next two matches. It is importance from the perspective of world dominance and also from the points table perspective. I am worried about Bielsa’s presence and Nunez, who is in great form. And for Brazil it is the Maracana crowd. Last time there was hardly any crowd. This time things are going to be different. I hope the newcomers shine too in the two games and Scaloni has his right plans for them.

  3. Marcelo bielse the Argentine of Uruguay manager has coached Argentine nt from 1998 to 2004.
Do you know ? Current Argentina coaching staff were all played under him during his time as matter of fact Samuel, aimar and scaloni were all made thier international debute under him, Samuel ayala and aimar were his key players even though ayala was injured and didn’t play All three matchs in group stage during world Cup in 2002 instead pochettino the current Chelsea head coach played his place. do you know? bielse perfered Aimar to Riquelme because of his stlye of play which wasn’t suited bielse’s high pressing fast attacking football Do you know? 😏 I became Argentine fan in 1999 which was bielse era. Bring on Uruguay to La Bombonera it will be fascinating game to watch, it will be end to end game as bielse likes to attack

    • 2002 Argentina team one of the best star studed Argentina team of all time however arrogance of biesla let shocking group stage exit for Argentina. Like many Many other I also never forgive biesla for such humiliation because Argentina was the clear clear favorite for that world cup.

      • Yea and they’re out from WC from two goals that came from a deadball, freekick and penalty (Owen dived just like in 1998 though). The team lack tooth upfront cause Batistuta was out of form that season because of ankle injury. He only played 20 games for Roma that season, only scored 6. For comparison, Crespo was the serie A top scorer, but for some reason Bielsa keep starting Batistuta in all 3 games.

There’s also great young talent Saviola who scored 20+ goals for Barcelona that season but Bielsa prefered out of date striker like C. Lopez.

WC 2002 aside, Bielsa’s team finished 1st place in qualifer, 2nd place in Copa America (losing on penalties), 1st place in Olympics 2004 (6 wins out of 6 games, 17 goals scored, 0 goal conceided)
