Argentina U17 lose in dramatic penalty shootout loss to Germany at World Cup

The Argentina U17 team lost in a dramatic semi final match in penalty shootouts against Germany at the World Cup.

Diego Placente’s team were eliminated in the semi finals in a match which saw Agustin Ruberto score three goals.

Germany took a 1-0 lead early in the match as Brunner scored off a difficult angle. With Germany leading 1-0, Gorosito played a ball to Ruberto who was inside the penalty area and he would score to draw Argentina level.

Agustin Ruberto would score a second half, this time he would dribble his marker and his effort would find the top corner of the goal. Germany would draw level and it was Brunner who got the ball and drove into the Argentine penalty area and his effort would beat Florentin and he would score.

A ball into the penalty area was not defended properly by Argentina and Germany would take the 3-2 lead with Moerstedt scoring. The referee would add eight minutes of added time and Argentina would score.

Ruberto would get the ball inside the penalty area and he would score, getting his hattrick. The match would go to penalty kicks and both Franco Mastantuono and Claudio Echeverri would not score their penalty kicks and Germany would win 4-2 on penalty kicks.
