Alejandro Garnacho won two penalty kicks for Manchester United in their 2-0 win vs. Everton.
Garnacho was named as the Player of the Match with the two fouls on him in the first half. Garnacho initially won the ball back in midfield for United and he would end up at the end of the play getting fouled inside the penalty area.
Manchester United would score and take a 1-0 lead off the penalty kick. The second penalty won was all Garnacho.
The Argentine made a run towards the penalty area, skipping beyond players and he got fouled inside the penalty area. United would score and take a 2-0 lead.
Being named as the Player of the Match, Garnacho spoke to TNT Sports after the match. Here is what he had to say:
“We lost the last two games it’s important to be there. We want to be in the Champions League next season so I am very happy [with this win].
“Now every game the manager said is a final. We have to win every single game, we’re Manchester United. The job is done.
“The manager wants me to go one v one, to shoot, to dribble. I won two penalties. It’s important.
“It’s like a dream with my age. A full Old Trafford stadium chanting my name is incredible. I am very proud and happy.”
Manchester United coach Erik Ten Hag had this to say about Garnacho after the match:
“I love working with Ale Garnacho. He likes a challenge and he has huge potential.
“He’s progressing very well, and we’re pleased with this. His contribution today was huge again”.
We are thin in the RB department now with the injuries of Montiel, Maffeo, Foyth and even Quarta. Apart from Molina there is nobody else. Who else can play makeshift RB? Perez? De Paul? Or we switch to 3 at the back and De Paul as a wingback if Molina needs to be subbed?
I think it’s time we go with three at back or if we stick to four and we try out a center back at the rb position. We need to try new things now, rather than be faced with this problem during crunch time tournaments
I personally could care less if her highness is his idol as long as he performs for ARGENTINA when called upon, he’ll eventually grow out of it and see the light.
