  1. What’s up with Messi! He is struggling with constant fitness issues. Some of us are expecting Messi to play the Olympics and 2026 but his reoccurring hamstring injuries might not even let him play in the next Copa which is less than 3 months away.

Regarding Alvarez poor run of form, yes it worrying and he knows Pep took a huge gamble by starting him in a must win match and he again was very wasteful and was out performed by Foden. I won’t be surprised if he watches the whole game against Madrid from the bench next Tuesday. His confidence seems to be all time low right now. While he was in great form instead of taking chances he kept passing around and now he is at the bottom of the pecking order. If City fails to win the League or Champions league, they will buy new players and most likely a striker because Haaland hasn’t been the same like last season in terms of both goals and fitness. He might actually be sold, which again will be blessing in disguise. Teams like Milan, Juventus, Barcelona they all need a striker next season and if I wa Alvarez I would move out.

    • Agree, Alvarez is outperformed by the star boy Phil Foden, fans will blame Pep for not playing Foden rather than Alvarez or even Halland. Alvarez is losing hunger and enthusiasm, is anonymous on the pitch, and is nowhere in position.

Arg’s player stellar performance at the team club so far is only Mac Allister. Hopefully all the players will be fit on Copa.

  2. Phil Foden stealing the show while Alvarez is being anonymous. We can’t deflect and start blaming pep Guardiola. Everytime City is on attack he is not making runs, just walking. For the last 2-3 months his performances have been bad or average at best. Whenever I see Foden shinning, whereas our boy Alvarez is no where to be seen, makes me feel annoyed.

    • I’ve noticed in the friendlies his body language was not the same, something is up, he lost his confidence for some reason. Needs a goal and a run of games, ideally to play as a no 9, which he may or may not get again…
