Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni is starting both Julián Álvarez and Lautaro Martínez with Ángel Di María in attack against Ecuador. Lionel Messi will start the match on the bench but Scaloni stated in a press conference that Messi will play.
Emiliano Martínez starts with a change in the back line as Montiel, Romero, Lisandro and Acuña all start. Scaloni is going with a midfield of Rodrigo De Paul, Leandro Paredes and Gio Lo Celso. Here is the starting eleven:

Messi and Scaloni will point it out to him. His finishing has always been an issue and if he repeats this foolishness will be dropped from the bench too.
To be fair to Nico, he is one of the few players on the team who tries to get a goal for himself. What the heck were they doing in the several changes after the 75th minute (or so)? Tiki-taka in the box and then offsides! Ridiculous! Shoot the effing ball! Anybody lol
But yes, Nico definitely should have passed on the last one with a low cross to Messi.

I’m so fucking tired of Lo Shitso. He can’t make a single accurate forward pass even without any defenders in front of him.
He only does three things for the NT.
(1) Turn the ball over.
(2) Commit stupid and unnecessary fouls.
(3) Injury.
It’s been a while since I’ve been on. Watching this game, LoCelso confirmed why I never see him as world class. Mac Allister and Enzo guaranteed the World Cup. Lisandro and Cuti are World class and comfortable on the ball (never felt confident for ARG defense in my life) Lisandro can even play CDM and it would still be an upgrade from Mascherano. His movement is even Busquets-esque. Bring Senesi and I would be overjoyed. Julian with world-class passing. I don’t much like Montiel but I guess he does the bare minimum job. I’d like to see Palacios or Enzo in LoCelso’s place.

Lack of playing time for Alvarez is very concerning. He should leave Man City this summer 100%.
Lo Shitso makes sloppy passes as always. I hope Scaloni cuts him after this match. His absence was the second biggest reason why we won WC 2022 (GOAT effect is No.1).
I cant think of any good match from him in the last 3 years. Even in the Finalissima game he was the worst on the pitch.
