  1. I trust Scaloni but I feel a big part of why we won as much as we did was because our lineups were unpredictable. We always had one or two changes to each line up. It made us harder to predict. The most reason one that I can think of is putting di María on the left is the wc final. We always made changes to the starting lineup and I hope this continues.

  2. I predicted this list with a 100% accuracy. While I’m satisfied with it. I feel bad for A. Correa, he’s like another Dybala he has probably played under 4 different managers and they barely play him when they call him up. Then you have Balerdi whose time got totally wasted. Why call him up if you won’t give him a chance in any of the 2 friendly games? Anyway, I guess him and Barco are young so they’ll probably get their chances once we either qualify for the World Cup or after 2026 World Cup.

  3. Scaloni has considered his trusted warriors. Since World Cup, he has been taking less risk in many aspects – be it the team selection, be it the selection of opponents in the friendlies. Here also he stuck to his Pezzella thought Balerdi was there and Montiel thought Nehuen Perez did well in the single match he played. Let’s see how it goes at the group stage. We are not in any easy group. Of the three top teams in South America only Uruguay is in a relatively easy group.

  4. Team chemistry is the centrality of Scaloni’s selection. I respect his decission, though would have been happy to see Balerdi at the expense of either of Pezzella or Quarta. Whoever make the last 03 cuts will still struggle to penetrate the starting 11, even doubtful to be an impact sub player.

In a related note can Scaloni call or recall replacements in the event of injury or any other unforseable scenario/event before the tournament kicks off?

  5. Barco and correra is ok. Because we have so many better players in that position. But not sure about Balerdi. Balerdi had a very good season. I personally believe as per current form
    Balerdi > LMQ, Pezzella
Even Nehuen Perez > Montiel, LMQ
Otherwise I’m happy with this selection.
