Lionel Messi is out with a ligament injury in his right ankle.
Messi was substituted out in the second half of the 2024 Copa America final for Argentina in their 1-0 win vs. Colombia due to an injury. Inter Miami have confirmed that Messi is out indefinitely with a ligament injury in his right ankle, which he suffered during the match.
The rough tackle that he faced could have injured even a 24 year old. So this was a freak accident rather than anything to do with Messi’s age. Colombia played rough. They tried to intimidate us by being rough and the referee was not using his whistle and coloured cards judiciously. In Messi’s case that defender just threw his body on Messi and landed on his ankle. What sort of intention was that? Either that was evil or stupid. He deserved a card. Remember how a Bolivian player received a red for doing something similar on Cuti Romero in our world cup qualifier.
Messi should take or should I say be forced to take all the time needed to get well, FULLY. As I said yesterday, it’s not the end of the world if ARG plays a meaningful game or 2 AKA WC qualifiers without the BOSS….it’s 2024 2Copas and WC champions and I’m pretty sure they will do well.
To the other matter, some ARG players can’t prevent themselves from doing dumb shit, like Dibu doing what he did with his WC individual trophy right in front of the ENTIRE WORLD!

Nicolas Tagliafico is the most underrated player in this national team. He was immense in the Finalissima against Italy, two amazing performances in the World Cup semi final and final against Croatia & France and another impressive performance in the final by him tonight, on top of that, he was not dribbled once during the entire tournament. Leo is not completely done yet. He is still the best player on the team if he is 100% physically fit. Since he is older he should not play 90 mins. If the management and Messi himself can manage his fitness and time on the field Messi is still lethal. He almost scored in the Final. He was unlucky it hit Alvarez. He also played well untill the first injury. The team is also not dependant on Messi either but to beat Spain we would need atleast 45 mins of fit Messi. Even better if he comes off the bench. He should switch Starting XI and off bench depending on the opponent. And he should be subbed off if he is starting. We still need him but intelligently.
Lautaro Martinez deserves to win Ballon d’Or more than Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham, I guess he doesn’t have good agency or PR
