Federico Redondo scored twice and assisted once for Inter Miami in their 3-1 win vs. Toronto FC.

Redondo was the Argentine who stole the show for Inter Miami on Wednesday. With Lionel Messi watching in attendance, it was the 21 year old who was involved in all three goals for Inter Miami.

With the score at 0-0, it was a ball over every one from Redondo which found Diego Gómez and he would score to give Inter Miami the 1-0 lead.

A cross into the penalty area by Julian Gressel and Redondo would head it in to give Inter Miami the 2-0 lead. Redondo’s second would come minutes later.

Another cross into the penalty area and the ball would fall to Diego Gómez who would pass it to Redondo and the Argentine would score his second goal of the night.

  1. It’s funny. Here in Africa, from most platforms that I have seen except for the homophobic part, most people don’t see anything wrong about Enzo’s singing. There’s even a joke on Facebook, a photo of the black French players at WC final penalties, saying how blind are are Argentine players that they can’t see those players are white?😂😂
The general feeling in Africa is that there’s nothing wrong with Argentina players pointing out the truth. French are hypocrites and treat our people as inferiors in their country. But when it’s pointed out, then they make it outrageous publicly.

    • Infact most of us are thanking Enzo Fernandez for speaking obvious fact.
As an African I can say most us don’t care about liberal woke culture especially use of race card. Only the Messi haters/ Argentina haters are creating a mountain out of it. Nicolas Jackson response is true reflection of majority of Africans being in bothered by the ongoing saga.
How Africans react on race, discrimination, LGBT is completely different to how black Americans react.

  2. Equi Fernández transfer saga is very annoying. The player is willing to wait for offers from other European clubs.
But his greedy agent is pushing him very hard to accept offer from Saudi Arabia. It’s upon Equi Fernández to make a tough choice about his future.

  3. Bull shit. I dont believe in these racist comments and all. Its all a myth or illusion made by our brain. We all know the colour of the skin is just a survival method to adjust in various environments. And all these countries and borders are our own creation just for fun. If looking at the background of all of us means then its from an ape like creature. All these shit religions, caste, colour, countries, patriotism, rich an poor are just our mere imagination just for fun. If we accept the fact that we are just animals then there will end all these racist comments. I believe all these racism is due to our comparative nature of our brain to make others less. Its evolved that way inspired by our mere imagination. The blood is red, the genetic material composed of humans and all animals are same. Then what? Our so called funny brain creates this shit house illusion of racism and other moron useless shits which is not at all connect with nature. 😂😂😂. I just enjoy football. And i dont even believe my humans are pure souls. For our survival we destroyed all animals and forests and now we commenting on these imaginative things created by our so called brain 🤦🏻‍♂️

  4. Nothing will happen to Enzo unless he plays poorly (he wanted out of Chelsea anyway – perhaps a loan for a year). He will get booed in stadiums for a while, but if he scores goals, he will be celebrated and all will be forgotten. However, it was extremely stupid on his part and I rate him high as a player. I said this after the WC win, Argentina players need to be professional and be men of character in victory (and defeat). No need to bring up African heritage, when you don’t question Greizman, Theo Hernandez, or any other naturalized citizen who plays for their respective country. Even most Argentines are of Italian background. When you are world champions, all eyes are on you and you should set the standard on and off the field. You have fans world-wide and it is important to have “all of that positive energy from all over the world.” There are African fans and Asian fans who support Argentina more than their own country.

Side note, Griezman wore blackface and he and Dembele made racial jokes about Asians and said it was just a light gesture. Lavezzi made a slant-eyed pose in promotional pictures for his Chinese football club. Too many boys need to stop “joking around”, grow up, be men, and be professional”.

Anyway, I’m happy we won the Copa: it was Scaloni’s three sums that caused the goal: Parades -tackle, pass to LoCelso (who I’ve criticized – but said he should be backup); and Lautaro.

  5. No transfer update of Argentine player this summer…. Looks odd. Soule to roma, let’s see if equi is ambitious to play for NT and avoid Saudi move

    • Boca jnr rejecting offers from Porto and Marseille for Equi Fernandez have pissed me off. Now the club is willing to listen for more offer from Saudi Arabia club. I hope Equi Fernandez rejects that offer

  6. It is no secret that European nations haven’t won a world cup without African players for a long time and even the Africans who don’t play for European countries are very vocal about it. However, I will be surprised if Enzo gets away without any kind of punishment, even though the country he plays in, racially abused its black players for missing penalties against Italy in 2020 Euro Final. His Chelsea team-mate Fofana already made it clear that they are extremely disappointed and even his club Chelsea is put in a position where they can’t let it go without addressing it. We can only hope that his punishment won’t be a very long suspension.

    • I truly think it’s possible that they may kick him out. If there is some light in this whole situation, it’s that he might end up in a club that suits him better. I just don’t know who would take him. Could turn into a Mason Greenwood situation

    • I think the coaching staff learned the lessons vs Ecuador and made tactical adjustments. We played Di Maria and that made a lot of difference because he is a player Colombia had to worry about. So even though the final vs Colombia was not easy (it took an extra time goal after all), we had enough weapons to come out on top.

  7. Oh my gosh please spare me with this France race baiting bullshit. Was the song offensive? Sure, not a recommended thing to sing and very stupid to record because Enzo should have self-preservation instincts knowing how they are in Europe. Argentina is like a world apart and they are still openly offensive because the culture isn’t goody-two shoes and it just comes naturally to a lot of them. For better or worse, I know it’s a rude song but Argentines have a different approach to this stuff. For example, you get called “negro”, “chino”, “gringo”, “gordo” based on your appearance, and it’s not offensive, its endearing. I know this song is different from that but I’m sure people can understand that the approach to race is extremely lax in Argentine culture. If it didn’t FEEL like anything more than an offensive song to the Argentine players, they wouldn’t have sung it. I also wonder why I’ve never heard “el que no salta es un ingles” (if you don’t jump you’re english) or “que te pasa brazuca” (brazua=offensive term for brazilian) be referred to as xenophobic. I mean, by definition they are xenophobic chants. Why is it just now?

I don’t know, it’s just really unfortunate to me to see how this race baiting virus distracts people from the real problems in the world. Imagine if the collective consciousness spent as much time as they are focusing on the real injustices going on. The French are really going to get mad over a song and cancel Argentina? Are they going to expend energy on removing our trophies, sanctions, and banning players? Isn’t the French government currently destabilizing West Africa (Burkina Faso comes to mind) in a proxy war with Russia over resources? Didn’t NATO (an alliance France is a part of) recently kill Gaddafi because he wanted to make an independent currency for the continent of Africa backed by gold and free from Western banking enslavement?? Isn’t France still selling weapons to Israel? Don’t they still have a colony, French Guiana, in South America? France is currently literally cleaning up immigrants off the streets and relocating them to “clean up their image” for the Olympics (yeah that’s actually real, look it up). Didn’t NATO (which again, France is involved in) recently bomb the Nordstream 2 pipeline in one of history’s worst acts of industrial terror, massively increasing energy prices in Germany and Europe which obviously affects the migrants the most because they are economically the most vulnerable? That may sound like a reach but shouldn’t a government care about its most vulnerable first? Didn’t they recently deploy troops to New Caledonia to quell an independence movement, like weeks ago? Sorry to bring up such contentious topics, and correct me guys if I got any facts wrong because I’m not an expert. But with all of the actual problems in the world LITERALLY WHO CARES about Argentine players singing an offensive song. It’s like comparing a drop of water to an entire ocean. It might actually not even be comparable like that because it’s apples to oranges — one is just about feelings and the other is action, real evil action, crimes. If only the French would spend time focusing on the real problems of their own country to make a tangible positive difference for the world. People should get themselves in order before criticizing others. Imagine what could be done if this energy was put into questioning the government and all of the stuff I just mentioned was trending all day non stop with hundreds of thousands of likes instead of… Enzo remarking that the french players are of African descent. Really? No wonder the world is on fire. They want us like this. And no they don’t want the immigration because it’s so friendly and kind and loving. They just want cheap labor for the firms.

So yeah, as much as it was a rude song I won’t ever condemn it because I literally could not care less. Apologies if this seems brash but it’s a response to seeing this trending all day every day in multiple countries and the fact that hundreds of thousands of people are engrossed by it. Enzo is not the devil people. He’s a good kid.

    • I’m with Enzo but not his actions. Always Argentina, always. Lot of things coming from a lot of people is motivated by jealousy vis a vis Argentina. When Argentina was not winning tgere was none of this pilling on. That said, Enzo apologized for a reason. Those words were bad. According to DePaul Messi already told them not to do things like that, no taunting. Why taunt? Why? Huge mistake.
Cannot condone those words in any way, shape or form. Acknowledging it was a rude song, that it was offensive and then say all that you said is odd, you most likely can’t see that. A statement will have to come from Argentina side, Enzo already did and Messi in Miami will have absolutely no choice but to say something in condemning prejudice. Adults will take over.

      • What’s odd about what I said? What’s odd is that the French people care one bit about a mean song on a bus when their government is still committing crimes all over the world and has done for decades/centuries. That’s very very odd to me. I don’t understand why Enzo Fernandez trended in France for days but not Burkina Faso. If this is what the “adults taking over” looks like the world is screwed. Usually when I hear that term I imagine that intelligent people are going to find real solutions and focus on real problems. It quite literally does not matter at all what happened on the bus in the grand scheme of things. That’s my point.

        • It doesn’t matter to you, that’s your right. But it matters to a lot of Argentinians, trust me, it does. Virtually ALL Argentinians stars do not play in Argentina. Enzo does not play in Argentina and as far as we can tell does not plan to do so. So when the word adult is used it’s just to signal that none of the moral equivalency, or positions, will be with him when he has to go back to the EPL, to his teammates, to his team. He will be there all alone and will need help. At only 23, and loaded with talent, he must have his future ahead of him and none of the ‘positions’ that show defiance here will help his career there. It’s about HIM.

    • Yeah and it will happen gradually. Scaloni and co are not as bad at injecting youth as some portray them to be. Pretty sure Garnacho will continue and likely Carboni too. Perhaps Colo Barco will be called, and eventually Otamendi and Pezzella will be replaced with the likes of Balerdi, Perez, Senesi. I can see Varela or Equi eventually replacing Guido too. May not happen as quickly as some of us would prefer but it will…

        • Medina is more of a central defender who can play a makeshift left-back but not that well. Scaloni actually tried him there and he seemed pretty tame. Barco although much younger seems like a much more suitable option.

      • Agreed. I just hope they have their eyes on the right players so they know the right moment to do it. Because I don’t want the same situation that happened with Cuti years ago when he was obviously an above par center back much better than the ones we were calling up and he barely got his first ever call up right before the Copa America 2021. That was way too close. If someone is playing as well as he was then for example, I don’t want any delays. I think timing is the most important thing. I think your remarks are perfectly correct but I’ll add an asterisk that it’s been SINCE Copa 2021 that they’ve had good timing with injecting youth. Before that there were some problems. Oh and also while Dibu certainly wasn’t “youth” they were also too slow to include him back then.

I like all the names you guys are mentioning. Central Midfield, specifically the pivot/defensive midfielder and left back are the positions that most likely will need renewing. Varela, Equi, Colo Barco definitely need to be considered. Not sure if he’s improved but Barco has always had a bit of a weaker spot in defending. I wonder if Medina as a makeshift could be used to compensate for that at certain phases of a match, say when we are leading and the opposing team starts getting aggressive with wingers to come back. I’m not sure that Barco is enough for that position on his own.

        • Olive, since Scaloni likes to adjust the formation in some games, I can see him using Licha for that makeshift LB role to preserve the lead. I think he did that vs Canada when Otamendi came on and Licha was shifted wide left but it remained a nominal back four.

Barco might improve defensively if he gets more minutes at Brighton next season. EPL will inevitable demand him upping his defensive game, as long as he is a regular there. As for Equi, if he ends up in the Saudi league as sadly rumoured, he would do his NT call-up prospects no good. Wish we had more options for the RB though, Augustin Giay made a sideways move to Palmeiras in Brazil, a league with more money but other than that it can be a dead end. Fausto Vera comes to mind, he was seen a super promising DM but he disappeared from the radar after his move to Brazil. At least Almada is only temporarily at Botafogo and is supposed to move to Lyon after that.

  8. Rodrigo De Paul:

“When the final ended, Messi came and the first thing he said was, ‘nobody taunts anyone, let’s celebrate and enjoy our victory.’

“They always find something against the winner. Whether it’s that we got help, or that we taunt others, or that it’s not such a good team, or that South America is less developed than Europe, we didn’t see any fuss about that when they say those things about us. All these things are said to discredit what we’ve achieved.

“We never talk before playing. For us, the Euro is incredible, but in the World Cup the best ones play…

“Someone from Colombia said that Messi and Di María weren’t the same anymore, that they were old. We see those things.

“Now they’re on about Enzo and nobody talks about the Copa América.” @olgaenvivo

    • ARGENTINA could conduct themselves perfectly win perfectly act perfectly say the right things AND YET HATERS WILL CRY ABOUT THE COLOR OF THEIR BOOTS

    • It’s very very and very unfortunate. Messi is one of the most upright, not only athletes, but humans in the whole world. People saw him stopping his teammates from disrespecting Brazil after the first Copa America title. He knows who he is and what his place is, a global icon recognized the world over. When he said those words to his teammates i think someone forgot to circulate them appropriately. That song has been very very bad and to a lot of people out there, they’re casting the entire country of Argentina as a racist country. This is not okay and the government inflammatory response did not help. Enzo apologized and for cause. One way or another, sooner or later, Messi will have to rise again. Maradona, who was iconic for his social stands that were admired all over would have find a way.
Some of these noises are clearly jalousie driven, when Argentina was losing all those finals nobody came up with how there are no blacks in Argentina. In any case the team has to also be aware that it has die hard fans, and literally, all over the world including Asia and Africa, all over. Federation has to unmistakable condemn racism.

      • Trust me, I see and fully respect your points. But even if Argentina were a racist country (which it’s not in my opinion, they are just offensive and politically incorrect), but even IF, according to the modern definitions of racism, I literally don’t care at all because Argentina isn’t bombing the entire world. That’s like freaking out over some spilled milk on the carpet when the room next to you is on fire, the fire alarm is going off, and people are burning alive right next to you. Are the die hard Argentina fans in all of the other countries in the world unsafe because of Argentina, or because of the “anti racist” cutesy countries? First take care of the real problems, then we can discuss if Argentina should tone it down a little bit with singing “corran la bola” on a party bus.

        • Are you a black person? I don’t think you understand. Anyway, you’ll see better someday, hopefully. Otherwise it’s just pointless.
