Adidas and the Argentine Football Association (AFA) have unveiled a retro jersey inspired by the design worn during the 1974 FIFA World Cup.
The jersey retains the traditional sky-blue and white stripes and includes updates such as a laurel wreath around the crest and three stars above it, representing Argentina’s World Cup wins in 1978, 1986, and 2022.
The Albiceleste will wear this jersey for the first and only time in their upcoming match against Peru on Tuesday, November 19, at La Bombonera.
Adidas released a promotional video for the jersey featuring players from the national team and kit manager Mario “Marito” De Stéfano. Each participant delivers a few lines as part of the campaign.
The video also references Alejandro Garnacho, acknowledges the support of Argentine fans in Bangladesh, and includes a reference to former Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal, recalling the rivalry during the 2022 FIFA World Cup quarterfinals.
Team needs new coaching staff,Scaloni era was finished,This Coach resist and fear about any squad change
Game vs Paraguay is proof of how we look when Macca and Enzo are out of form…. No transition, no defense from mid. Our left side was absent. Messi barely touched the ball. This reminded me of 2016.
Ps this retro jersey is dope. I heard we are wearing it vs Peru
