Juan Foyth scored for Villarreal in their 2-1 loss against Real Madrid.

Foyth got his first goal of the season and the first one of the match. With the score at 0-0, Villarreal were awarded a corner kick and the ball fell to the 27 year old who scored from close range to give Villarreal the 1-0 lead.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni has included Foyth in his preliminary list of players for this month’s World Cup qualifying matches against Uruguay and Brazil.

  1. Foyth has been playing last few matches as centre back as as right back when he is fit he is a miles better than montiel I don’t got why still carrying likes montiel and pezzella they don’t have no business with the nt they don’t even perform well for thier club River plate
    I hope scaloni drops those old undeserved player after those big matches against Uruguay and Brazil.
    My predictions is scaloni will make big changes after Brazil and Uruguay matches.

    • Foyth is a different kind of right-back, the one that plays like an extra midfielder, (I believe he started as a midfielder in Estudiantes academy and maybe that’s why he is wearing a number 8 today) more centrally than someone like Molina who hugs the touchline and stretches the play. It depends on what you want from your fullback. I agree that he is now is probably better overall than Montiel. At the very least he playing for a decent club in one of the best leagues in the world.
