Alejandro Garnacho scores for Manchester United in 4-3 loss vs. Brentford

Alejandro Garnacho scored for Manchester United in their 4-3 loss against Brentford.

Garnacho made it six goals in the Premier League this season, scoring a great goal for Manchester United. With Brentford leading 4-1, the Argentine received the ball outwide, played a one-two and his effort went into the top corner of the goal.

The 20 year old had an assist on the first goal, playing a low pass into the penalty area to find Mason Mount. He now has 11 goals and 10 assists this season. Manchester United would score one more but lose the match.

  1. The truth is this … argentinean defenders and midfielders are best suited to progress in the premiership. But… argentinean forwards and wingers progress better in La liga. Garnacho and Echeverri should look to play in Spain.

  2. Garnacho has 11 goals and 10 assist in 54 appearances this season. It sounds pretty good for a 20 year old but had he been a little less selfish he could have had another 5+ assist but he only wants to score and his poor finishing and IQ lets him down consistently!

Dimaria back in the headless chicken days would put in multiple crosses in the box most of them wasted but over the years he mastered the art of crossing and his finishing went to next level at PSG! Garnacho has to pick teammates in better position before deciding to shoot wildly and with Amad back in the squad who has better IQ will put pressure on Alejandro Garnacho which is good for his development !

    • Agreed, Garna has talent and a competitive edge but he needs to tamper that edge otherwise it turns into a selfish liability. Simeone Jr, Soule and Paz seem to have a good handle on when to shoot and when to pass and that puts them ahead of Garnacho at this point in time.
All in all, Garnacho is another youngster to watch and luckily Argentina has lots of those so the future is looking bright.

    • There’s another factor that hampered his progress which is playing in a sinking ship that is Man U. He might not possess natural dribbling skills like most great Argentines such as Saviola, Lavezzi, Tevez, Kun, Messi, Lautaro, Dybala, Di Maria etc but when he’s on form, he can shoot and cross well with both feet like (I hate to say it) his idol CR. He just need to improve his footballing IQ. While I dont think he would ever dribbles like Di Maria, he’d at least could be as usefull as Caniggia who I think most similar in style.

Its true Di Maria tend to be a headless chicken back then, he’d overdribbles until he gets cornered near the touchline, but because he’s a gifted dribbler sometimes he’d managed to overcome multiple defenders as we saw in CL 2014 final against Atletico. Garnacho on other hands, can be easily double marked. Then again, we tend to forget that he’s only 20.

  3. Man City to get rid of both Echeverri and Perrone next season. City are open to selling Perrone to Como permanently and talks are underway.
River wanted to keep Echeverri for another 6 months, but City refused only to completely ruin his 6 months. He was neither loaned loaned out nor allowed to play with their B team but Guardiola convinced the poor kid to only be used as a sparring player in training and told him outright he won’t get any playing minutes. How his agent allowed this to happen is beyond me. Now it is being reported that Echeverri will not be considered for next season also instead will be used as part of a payment for another signing.
