Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni has spoken about the possibility of playing with three center backs and Lautaro MartÃnez being available against Colombia.
Lionel Scaloni spoke at a press conference on Monday where he confirmed that Lionel Messi will start against Colombia in Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier. He also commented on possibly playing with three center backs. Here is what he had to say:
“Playing with three center backs could be an option. It’s not my preferred system but we have the players to do it if we need to.”
Scaloni also commented on Lautaro MartÃnez:
“Lautaro (MartÃnez) is doing very well, we gave him a few days off because he deserved it after so much competition. He is available for tomorrow.”
He did not play for Argentina in their 1-0 win against Chile. It could be one of Thiago Almada, Nicolás González and Lautaro MartÃnez who starts Tuesday’s match.
