Julián Álvarez scored for Atletico Madrid in their 2-0 pre-season win against Newcastle.
Álvarez got his first goal in the pre-season for Atletico Madrid, scoring the first goal of the match. With the score at 0-0, Álvarez started Atletico’s counter attack, passing the ball to Baena who played it back to the Argentine and he scored to give Atletico the 1-0 lead.
Giuliano Simeone also started the match for Diego Simeone’s team while Juan Musso and Nahuel Molina were brought on as substitutes. Thiago Almada also played his first match with Atletico Madrid.

Atletico has made some good signings in the attacking department ! Almada and Baena are exactly what doctor ordered for them. Greizman wasn’t as effective as he should have been specifically during the important phase of the season ! Simeone has to build his team around Julian and if he still sticks to his ultra defensive game then midtable teams will again steal their points!
