Alan Varela has arrived in Argentina and spoke about his call-up to the national team and Lionel Messi’s potential last match in Argentina.
Varela is in Argentina and will begin training with the team on Monday. The 24 year old is part of the team for the two World Cup qualifying matches against Venezuela and Ecuador.
The Argentine spoke to the media upon arriving and here is what he had to say about his call-up:
“I am very happy, very happy to be here. The truth is that it’s a dream, to be able to enjoy the time I am here to the most.
“When the preliminary list came out, I was very focused on the match but when the final list came out, I felt immense happiness. I didn’t speak with Scaloni, only Aimar spoke to me.”
He was also asked about the match against Venezuela potentially being Lionel Messi’s last match in Argentina:
“It will be something unforgettable for me. Messi’s last match, hopefully will be a party, one to remember for ever. He’s the best player in the world, that has given so much for Argentina, hopefully it will be a party for him.”
Emi to ManU deal is off. There’s a rumor that he might move to Galatasaray. I would say it would be a downgrade especially during a world cup year. At least with Aston Villa, he’ll be able to perform in the high octane EPL.
