Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni commented on if he thinks Lionel Messi will play at the World Cup
Lionel Scaloni spoke at a press conference on Monday about young players against Ecuador and he also confirmed that Nicolás Otamendi will captain Argentina against Ecuador on Tuesday. In the same press conference, Scaloni spoke about Lionel Messi and if he will play at the World Cup with Argentina.
Messi had commented on if he will play at the World Cup following Argentina’s 3-0 win against Venezuela. When asked about Messi’s comments, here is what Scaloni had to say:
“Will Messi play in the World Cup? I haven’t spoken to him about it, I only know what he has said publicly, and I know that he is going to take his time to decide.
“We have to leave him alone, and whatever he decides will be fine.”
