In the 30th minute, the Argentine midfielder controlled the ball inside the box and finished with a composed shot across goal to extend Benfica’s lead.
Both Nicolás Otamendi and Barrenechea started for Benfica, playing key roles in the win. The team now shifts its focus to Wednesday’s big challenge: attempting to overturn the series against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Meanwhile, Gianluca Prestianni was absent due to yellow card suspension.
