Nicolás Tagliafico has commented on the Finalissima match not being played.
Tagliafico has been called up to the Argentina national team for the two matches against Mauritia and Zambia. With the match against Spain in the Finalissima not being played, Tagliafico spoke to DSports about the match. Here is what he had to say:
“As a player, one always wants to play the big matches. It was going to be a big match because Spain are very good, they’re in great form. We are also good.
“It would have been nice. But well, these are things in football. There was no deal and unfortunately, we might just meet at the World Cup.
“If we put aside the title and the Finalissima, it was going to be an important match because you’re facing a team you know has a shot to fight for the World Cup too. That helps you, it sets a benchmark for you. It shows you where we can be, if there are things to improve.
“There are always things to improve but matches like this are good. That’s it. Now we have to think about what is coming up.”
