Juan Musso started the match for Atletico Madrid in their Champions League win against FC Barcelona.
Muddo made seven saves, five of which were inside the penalty area and several one on one saves as Atletico Madrid eliminated FC Barcelona in the Champions League. The 31 year old let in two goals for Atletico Madrid in their 2-1 loss but 3-2 elimination of the Catalan club.
Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres were the two goal scorers for FC Barcelona but it was Juan Musso’s seven saves which helped Atletico Madrid qualify for the semi finals where they will play one of Arsenal or Sporting CP. Ademola Lookman got Atletico Madrid’s goal.
Nahuel Molina, Giuliano Simeone and Julián Álvarez all started for Diego Simeone’s team while Nicolás González was substituted into the match.

The primary rationale for selecting Juan Musso was his proficiency in playing out from the back, as he demonstrates strong footwork in addition to his goalkeeping abilities. I also contend that he should be considered as Argentina’s second-choice goalkeeper, ahead of Rulli.
Musso has been phenomenal in recent weeks. I had no idea how good he was. Is he guaranteed a spot in the world cup squad, or will Scaloni pick other keepers?
Musso used to be a starting goalkeeper for Atalanta, but his issue was always inconsistency, which led to losing his spot there. The quality was always there though, and Simeone and Scaloni always saw that. Oblak’s injury gave him a real opportunity at Atletico, and he’s fully taken advantage of it. Since then his positioning and reflexes have been really impressive.
Right now, he’s in better form than Emi, but Emi is still Emi and now we’ve got two great goalkeepers. I hope Atletico and Simeone finally win the Champions league.
Really happy he’s getting attention because moving to Atletico just to warm the bench was the biggest mistake of his career. Hopefully he’ll make the WC squad as a reward and finally realises his self worth and moves to a club where he can start.
The thing is we are blessed with dibu. He is not only a great keeper but a great leader too. I still believe its his confidence and charisma that won us all the trophies in last 5 years. If it was any other keeper with the same talent of dibu with less aggression means we wouldn’t have won this much trophies. Dibu is born for playing in this type of high octane short tournaments with high emotions. He is a blessing to our team.
Oh yeah Dibu has been IMO just AS important to Argentina’s recent trophy hall as Messi and that’s no exaggeration!
Disappointed being a Barca fan but the Atleti keeper Musso was fantastic on this big night. Congrats to Atleti for reaching the semis.
What? How can you support a club with no Argentine players against a club with most Argentine players? Its pity that most Argentine fans are just Messi fans. And i know if there is no Messi in Argentina they are even ready to support raphinha and brazil against Argentina. Its pathetic. Its the reality.
Natonal team is different. I have been a supporter of FC Barcelona since Ronaldinho days. And at the same time i have been supporting Argentina. It doesnt make any difference whom u support in club football.
