Santiago Beltrán with chances of going to the World Cup with Argentina

Santiago Beltrán has chances of going to the World Cup with Argentina.

Beltrán could be joining the Argentina national team at the World Cup. According to Diego Monroig, the goalkeeper could be going as player 27, similar to goalkeeper Federico Gomes Gerth who went as sparring at the 2022 World Cup.

The 21 year old goalkeeper has been the starting goalkeeper for River Plate. Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni has until May 30 to announce his team for the World Cup in June and July.

  2. All right, let’s do the math and see what we end up with:

    1 – Emiliano Martínez
    2 – Juan Musso
    3 – Gerónimo Rulli
    4 – Nahuel Molina
    5 – Gonzalo Montiel
    6 – Cristian Romero
    7 – Lisandro Martínez
    8 – Nicolás Otamendi
    9 – Leonardo Balerdi
    10 – Nicolás Tagliafico
    11 – Marcos Acuña
    12 – Rodrigo De Paul
    13 – Enzo Fernández
    14 – Alexis Mac Allister
    15 – Leandro Paredes
    16 – Exequiel Palacios
    17 – Nico Paz
    18 – Lionel Messi
    19 – Lautaro Martínez
    20 – Julián Álvarez
    21 – Nicolás González
    22 – Giuliano Simeone
    23 – Thiago Almada
    24 – José López

I think Acuna and Montiel are very likely going even if I don’t agree necessarily that they should, especially Acuna.

That leaves 2 spots for most likely candidates: Senesi, Barco, Lo Ceslo, Perrone, Buendia, Soule.

My guess and my own pick would be Senesi and Barco. Senesi is a must given that some of our defenders are coming in injured and because he’s had a great season. Barco’s form and versatility is also a huge asset.

Perrone, Lo Celso, Buendia and Soule to miss out.

    • I anticipate that Barco will be selected over Acuna, as Nico Gonzalez is capable of fulfilling the left-back position; additionally, I expect Senesi and Emi Buendia to be included in the final roster.

      • I’d be surprised if Acuña is left out, I would not mind it, but don’t expect it. Barco might still go but not at the expense of Acuña, but Senesi and Barco might end up being the last of the 26.

    • As far as I know Lopez might miss out coz they thinking to take one extra Defender and Midfielder too.
