The referees have been named for Argentina against England at the World Cup.
Ismail Elfath of the United States will referee Argentina against England. Corey Parker and Kyle Atkins, also of the United States, will be the first and second referees.
Maurizio Marian and Daniele Bindoni of Italy will be the fourth official and the reserve assistant referee for the match.

Looks like after three back to back disastrous performances from the midfield, Scaloni has finally learned his lesson and is dropping De Paul. Unfortunately, for me De Paul is finished at the highest level. There’s a reason he’s playing in MLS now. Starting Palacios should help with keeping more possession and also solve those long stretches where Argentina completely switches off, sits too deep, invites wave after wave of attacks, and eventually concedes.
It also looks like Scaloni might finally be moving on from both Molina and Montiel by starting Simeone at rightback. When Simeone pushes forward, Palacios can slide over and provide cover, similar to what we saw against Jordan. That gives Argentina much better balance while still allowing Scaloni to stick with either a back four or a four-man midfield. Also inject some threat from the wings so that the English fullbacks don’t push forward attacking us nonstop knowing there is no threat from the right if Messi is trapped in the centre like Switzerland the game.
I also don’t think starting with a 5-3-2 against England is the right approach. England’s style is quite similar to ours, they like to attack leaving their midfield and defense exposed, which is why they have also conceded consistently. Sitting back from the start will only invite pressure, and considering both teams have looked vulnerable defensively throughout the tournament, that could easily backfire. A 5-3-2 makes much more sense if we are protecting a lead late in the game rather than starting the match with it.
Agreed once we have defensive solidarity we can be more confident in attack
We are the only attacking side that has scored most goals in world cup 2026 (17)
It appears they might be integrating a 5-3-2 and changing Molina for Montiel and using either simeone or palacios.

Saw a video that Messi is not part of the last training before the England match. Feeling worried.
Any 120 min game even after the egypt one he was given rest the next day same i saw after swiss game, i guess he willl be back today
This team seems determined to ensure Messi isn’t the only one carrying the weight—we fans carry plenty on our nerves too! 😄
Simple rest his 39
Sky sports, ESPN pandits already celebrating The England in final, can’t bear this I hate so much this stuff. Argentina pls beat this shit once for all
Let the England team come to the match with over confidence,we will win for sure.
@Roy. Are you ok bro?
You did not come live yet. So I was concerned.
I ask all you a question guys.. we all have strong opinions on scaloni sqaud management, but he did gave garnacho and Mastantuno many chances to settle into the sqaud. Its not his fault that both turned to be terrible and not good enough to picked for the world cup squad ? Specially Scaloni had high expectations from Mastantuno. He called into the team quickly and got many minutes. Even got 10 kit. Really believe if he didn’t ruined himself at Madrid. He would’ve been a key member of this WC.
Mastantuno yes got his chances and he got an early hype exceeded what he can offer. However, Garnacho didn’t get similar chances, when he was sent to play with B team with no support or when he was sent playing in the 88th min with core players are not enough to decide what he can contribute.
Garnacho, in harsh words, is just sh*t. Both Man United and Chelsea fans are desperate for him to go. That’s simply the reason why he lost his spot.
Garnacho can’t run or dribble 1vs1 he got his chances and is not in form. Di Maria may have played this WC although as a super sub
Why are we still debating Garnacho and Mastantuono when, at least for now, they seem to be following the same trajectory as Echeverri—immense promise but yet to establish themselves consistently at the highest level?
To me, the more relevant discussion is about the players who are already in the squad. Nico Paz has shown flashes of genuine creativity, Barco brings energy and directness, Lo Celso offers control between the lines, and Palacios gives us tactical flexibility.
One of our biggest problems throughout this tournament has been dealing with transitions. We simply haven’t had enough pace or athleticism to recover when possession is lost.
De Paul, Molina, and Messi are all on the wrong side of 30. Messi transcends age because of his genius, while Paredes remains the glorious exception with his positional intelligence and composure. But the physical demands on the first two are becoming increasingly evident.
So when people question Scaloni’s squad selection or starting XI, I don’t think they’re necessarily asking for wholesale changes. They’re asking why players like Nico Paz, Barco, Lo Celso, and even Palacios as an option at right-back haven’t been trusted more. At this stage of the tournament, freshness, athleticism, and unpredictability may matter just as much as experience.
Mastantuono isn’t exactly a winger per se, he’s a #10 shunted out wide by Madrid.
Garnacho hardly played minutes for us on the pitch. He was never trusted.
The real criminal thing is the fact he didn’t even bother giving Matias Soule an opportunity over the least 3 years even when he was at Frosinone.
He is a good refree
I don’t like this guy. Both his Norway vs. Brazil and Spain vs. Uruguay matches were poorly officiated. He gave Brazil two soft penalties and badly managed the Spain vs. Uruguay game. He allowed Uruguay to play far too physically against Spain, which disrupted their usual style of play.
So you are saying he favors South American teams LOL.
He’s originally from Morocco. So he has that bitter attitude towards semi finalists.
I believe Argentina will reach the final.U.S.A wants every great player who crossed 35+ to play in their country similar to messi.Messi in the final will only strengthen their narrative to convince great players play in U.S.A
What does what the USA wants have to do with anything? If the USA could influence results, do you think they would have let Belgium score four goals against them?
The team that plays better will reach the final. It doesn’t matter whether the USA or China wants Messi or Ronaldo in the final.
I gave my opinion and u shared yours. No offense here.I won’t change mine and i also don’t request you to correct yours. Vamos albiceleste.
I see where you’re coming from. On a business side, Argentina/Messi winning the World Cup would benefited the US and the MLS a lot.
This @Chris Brown guy is always challenging people’s opinions and use insults to back his statements. It’s a free online platform. It’s not that deep brother. You don’t like someone’s opinion, just keep it pushing. Did he forget the US/Trump overturned Balogun’s red card? So Yes, the Trump/US can influence results.
What insult did I actually make? ? You’re literally implying that Messi will be favored by USA for some weird illogical reason, even though there’s no evidence that’s true. The whole world is already pushing this kind of nonsense, and now we have to see the same BS on our own forum too? Man you should be ready to get your daft opinions get debated if you are going to make opinions like this. Nothing about this is insulting unless you think debating with u is insulting lol
Ya,my aim is simple.Argentina should win the world cup by hook or crook. Is there any guarantee that all the past world cups were conducted fairly? Fairness ,transparency are only flashy words but everybody knows what goes in the back ground.Mostly everything is scripted,we should not be carried away by that.If really the template is to ensure Messi wins the world cup,I need that to happen because when a mediocre player like penaldo and his fans even after messi winning the world cup dare to compare that cry baby with real G.O.A.T like messi, why shouldn’t we expect messi to win it for whatever may be the reason. There were teams in the past which played fancy but lost, does anybody mind to remember them?At the end win matters and even that comes after our ugly play ,I am ok for that. Vamos Argentina
He’s not bad
Worst referee
What matches did he referee?
I think Brazil/Norway?
Any specific reason plz.Is he against Argentina?
