Enzo Fernandez and Lautaro Martinez both scored for Argentina in their 2-1 win against England to reach the World Cup final.
Lionel Scaloni’s team once more rallied from a 1-0 to score two goals. Anthony Gordon gave England a 1-0 lead and Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni made his first substitution of the match.
Nicolas Gonzalez was substituted in for Leandro Paredes. Messi played a cross into the penalty area and but the effort by Gonzalez was saved.
Scaloni made three more substitutions. Gonzalo Montiel, Nicolas Otamendi and Rodrigo De Paul were substituted in for Nahuel Molina, Lisandro Martinez and Giuliano Simeone. Minutes later, Lautaro Martinez was substituted in for Nicolas Tagliafico.
Argentina were awarded a corner kick and Lionel Messi who took it. He passed it to Enzo Fernandez and Enzo scored from outside f the penalty area to draw Argentina level.
With the score at 1-1, Messi received the ball out wide and he crossed it to Lautaro Martinez who scored to give Argentina the 2-1 lead.
The Argentina national team will play Spain in the World Cup final.
True. Last night Molina was horrible, Montiel looked better. But I think Scaloni would play Molina and Montiel as a sub as Montiel cannot run 60 mins and tackles on legs bit looks much effective offensively.
Enzo and Macca was in deep off form but finding them at right time. Found a right combination in Paredes/ DePaul, both looked sharper yesterday but again does not have the speed.
Romero n Tagli have been phenomenon in defense. Licha has been leaking goals, but looked v comfortable on the ball in opposite half. Again Otamendi comes on later with his own limitations.
None of Almada, Nico G and Jr Simeone was clinical in front of goal but adds option based on match situation Scaloni choses his sub – I wish one of Nico/Simeone to start. Their speed and passing would help at counters.
Lautaro has been a super sub and found a lot of his rythm back. So has Julian, he can run for 120 mins, press effectively and defend as well. His off the ball positioning has been one of the best he was also not at his best but found ways to rise. Lets not waste spece by talking about Messi. Only worry is Emi hope he gets some reflex back and wish he still comes good at penalties if need be.

Unbelievable! Escaping against Egypt was one thing. Turning around a semifinal against England is something else altogether.
When England took the lead, I wasn’t heartbroken by the scoreline alone. I was heartbroken by our football. Up to that point, we had looked incapable of creating enough to even equalize, let alone win the match. And yet, this team once again found a way to rewrite the script.
We’re better team through whole game
We could have gotten a third at the end there but Leo decided to go to the corner area. Anyhow, every match I am reminded why I love this team! So much tension, drama, and skill.
For our match against Spain, we need Montiel to start over Molina, he is a bit too shaky with the ball and it makes me nervous. Lisandro should also play as left back he tries to run with it too much in the back and he makes better attacking opportunities on the flank than Tagli . Ottemandi should be CB, we need someone with his experience. Spain have a LOT of pressing players
